Skatole - from tryptophan in your diet + certain bacteria - causes the smell.

It's a phase. I had that issue for a while. The body adapts. It will take a few months, but it will begin to decrease.
Just run in a pack and blame it on someone else.
3 pages? 7/10 and building up some pressure…
So, you've mentioned getting plenty of fiber. Have you tried getting less good fiber? Running activates certain GI processes more than they typically get activated, and so having too much fiber can lead to cramps, diarrhea, and gas in some people.
Let it fly. Running is a natural laxative and farts are always, always, funny (as long as you swing out and don't cropdust everyone behind you).
Don't overthink it man!
Sounds like a dietary issue.
OP, what's a typical day of eating look like for you?

Ok, this is a sensitive issue for me.
I’ve been running for a few weeks now, and I want to step up to a 5k. public race.
when I run I tend to get horrible gas and bloating. I’m very self conscious of this but I want to be a part of the running community.
does anyone have tips to not be gassy when running? Even if I could just have something to mask the smell a little. it’s embarrassing.
I don’t think I will be the slowest runner, so someone will likely be running in my wake.
Any suggestions appreciated!
Nice job OP. A masterclass in trolling. Got 3 pages of mostly serious responses. You are... in fact... correct.

I have a doctor friend who said he had lots of patients with constipation. I told him to tell his patients to go for a 3-5mi run / walk. No chance they will be constipated after that. He agrees, but most of his patients are just too lazy. You may have a diet that is causing you to get backed up and the run loosens things up. Is this the case? If so, do a warmup and make sure you have a place to use the bathroom. Once you have relieved yourself you are unlikely to continue to have continued flatulence unless there is some bigger problem or your diet is just so awful that you are basically allergic to it.
And thanks for thinking of the rest of us. It is a rare trait in the world these days.
