So Nico loses by 0.1 seconds and gets out kicked by the same guy he took down the last last lap and put 1.5s on him just 4 months ago at NCAAs in the 5000m final. This "no kick" crap from Nico has to go away with his mile improvements from last winter. Two weeks in the penalty box for you.
Camera angle is horrible (thanks Runnerspace), but it looks like Hicks broke away first, Young kicked hard and passed Hicks, then Robinson made a big move from back in 4th to pass Young right before the line.

What I thought was that Nico's just not as tough mentally as Hicks. He's physically gifted and trained incredibly well at 7,000 ft in the mountains. No shortage of cold or hills. But it was Hicks, who does not have 3:56/13:11 speed, who did the punishing in the end. Nico looked a little panicked or anxious the whole time, I thought. Mike Smith's a psychologist. He can help him figure it out. No complexes in Charles Hicks. He knows how to win the big ones, whether Europe U23 or NCAAs.

I don't know about that, Nico's got a reputation as one of the toughest guys in the NCAA for a reason. He lead most of the race while Hicks drafted behind. But I do agree that Hicks seemed to have something mentally that Nico didn't have in that last 200. Don't think it'll be any sort of problem in the long term, though.
