Going from doing lots of competitive sport and training several times a day to none will do a number on your brain chemistry. She's saying she hasn't even been outside (for a walk or anything). My number one piece of advice for anyone in a similar situation, cos she's not likely to be reading, is to get outside, just make yourself. I feel like crap if I stay inside for 24 hours, let alone longer than that. We're not meant to be inside all of the time. There may be other things going on or something else but I'd try getting outside first, it's a simple fix if it works. Also for her I'd try going to the gym and weight training. She's gone from being highly active and in the peak of physical fitness to sitting inside 24/7. She also doesn't have her races to focus on and distract her with goals.
