He ran like a fool in teh Worlds semis and paid dearly for it. Tonight, he got a perfect trip.
He's a very good runner but hardly ever wins anything (unless it's indoors when the top guys aren't there). He's always 2nd, 3rd, etc outdoors because in a rabbitted race the top guys are just faster. Here, the Africans served as the rabbitts and he was smart enough to just sit there and not move to early (like Wightman) and he got the best win of his career.
It was a great win for him no doubt. But I'll go on record and say he'll never get a win like this again.
If I was coaching the Africans, they'd never lose to Hoare.

Great run by hoare. Cannot wait for coffee club. Host of PB’s throughout the field. Amazing how much centro winning gold as guy what was prob 6-10th best guy has changed championships 1500 running - will prob last another 5 years till people forget!
Err, or super shoes have. Seriously, Centro was a lot faster than people give credit. He ran a 3:49 solo and well past his peak.
I suspect if he were 25 today (and wearing today's spikes), he'd be right up there with Hoare, Kerr, Wightman, etc.

Of course. For the Olympics there is a UK team, not separate teams for England, Scotland Wales and NI. So he is British for the Olympics. For the Commonwealth games, Scotland, Wales and NI all feature separate teams as members of the Commonwealth.
