You don't need male pacers when you get a big group committed to going after it like this. Whatever happens, there will be fireworks. Bravo. 🍿

Is there live results somewhere for the marathon? Intermediate times etc.
WA site still just showing the start list. Looks like there is a timing mat at every K though.
Just watching a pack of east africans duke it out isn't really very interesting.
I turned on the tv or a bit, but turned it off.
Lol, world record pace is 3:10.5 per km, no way they hold this, even if the course and fast and conditions are good. It's not happening without pacers to break the wind. Maybe, and just maybe, they could set a women's only WR, which is 2:17:01 by Keitany.
Still thinking about what happened to Saltpeter in Sapporo last year and wincing. So close...

I'm hoping smarter pacing will help the Americans take advantage of carnage later in the race.

Could get boring if only three left at 10k. Hall and Bates look strained at low 2:20 pace leading the second group.
What pace are they on right now?

D'Amato still in no mans land, just about 10seconds ahead of Bates & Halls group.
D'Amato: 26L23
Bates: 26:32
Hall: 26:32

Nailed it.
D’amato trains mostly alone, so I hope she likes running like this. Otherwise she’s wasting a lot of mental fortitude very early on
flying, wow
These girls are not playing around like the men yesterday. There will be no negative splits here

She just needs to slow down, get in contact with that group, and then push the pace when people start inevitably dropping off the lead group.
