IIRC some of the jumps were way wind-illegal, but I bet all of them were.
Las Vegas loves people with your betting skills. You're wrong, as usual, BW.
I was there that evening and sat near the LJ runway. It was hot and humid, and there was virtually no wind.
The track and runway were very fast. In fact, Lewis had just a new 100m WR on the track.
You're unregistered, as usual - a nobody.
You're illiterate if you didn't see I was talking about dead spots. Maybe your spot IN THE STANDS was in one. Were you on either the track or the runway? So no, you don't know.
Lewis 100m WR, combined with Lewis and Powell BOTH WR's, only screams wind even louder.
Now GO OUTSIDE, talk to REAL PEOPLE and get over your snarky self! It's the only cure.
When they jumped the air was very humid and thunderstorms swirled around them. I recall reading a paper discussing how this impacted air density and aided their jumps. I don’t recall details but I think high humidity decreases air density and thus resistance.
side note- the same conditions were present for Bob Beamon when he set his record.
Ok, and some of the jumps were wind aided but my point was that this wind and density as you wrote didn't seem to help the other jumpers attain outlier jumps.
Right. So as long as not everyone broke the WR, it's totally normal if 2 of them did.
Face it. Lewis's best and 3rd-best jumps weren't record legal, Powell's jump was certainly wind-aided too.
Setting aside the likelihood that Lewis was doping to suddenly be running 9.86 in the twilight of his career

Dude, so you have never heard of Ato.Com? He talked Carbbean sprinting, we all talked that stuff, yes I know a lot of guys who hung out with Bolt so if being wrong is your thing....hey. Dude, I don't lie, got it?
Except that you are lying.i even clicked on that link and it led me to electrical appliances and devices.woops.poor you.proof of your bullcrap.Quit while youre behind.

Wrong.
See this....
Caribbean Forum hit out at Carl Lewis after comments American Olympic sprint legend Carl Lewis has been hit by some hard criticism from the Caribbean Track and Field Forum after comments he made during an interview on a British website.
That....Caribbean Forum is what I'm talking about, that is where I met all those Carib/Jamaican posters.
So you aren't familiar with Ato Boldon 's forum either?

Lewis was the greatest clutch jumper in history, he always came up big when it mattered. Powell was in the midst of his best season ever.
Not every jump in the competition was wind aided. For some reason only Lewis and Powell benefited from the wind?
Let it go! Flo Jo has been deceased for 24 years and it appears as if every Worlds/Olympics we must have the same tired conversations about Flo Jo juicing. It's so lame at this point.
Let's focus on the t&f athletes who are currently juicing in 2022!!!
If you're a Caribbean track and field junkie then you will appreciate the site I am writing about. Caribbean Track & Field forum (a sub division of Talawah.com) is a forum based website devoted to the discussion of track and field with a piercing emphasis on the results of athletes from the Caribbean, born & raised or athletes of Caribbean heritage. The forum features many knowledgeable and experienced "forumites" who contribute their wealth of knowledge on a regular basis.
The forum is hardly restrictive as anyone is open to view the msg board. However, only registered users are permitted to contribute to the topics discussed. Fortunately, registration is free (you only need a username, password and email address & bingo!) The forum is mangaged by a handful of moderators who do their best to ensure that only the most accurate information is shared on the site. (yeah right..) All in all, if you're hungry for the latest track and field gossip or results Caribbean Track and Field forum should definitely be your first stop, especially if you're trying to find a free link to watch a european track meet online!
If you would have visited that place when it was up you would have found more Carbbean fans that what we see here. To think all those track fans on an island no bigger than Jamaica and they don't know Usian Bolt......how is that even possible.
Men’s 100 This was supposed to be a showdown between the Olympic champion (Lamont Jacobs) and the World champion (Christian Coleman). Unfortunately Jacobs has been slow coming to form, and nursing an injury has pulled out of several meets over the past month. However, he’s shown up in Oregon and has been training. If he is competing, I have to assume that he is fit and ready. Coleman has competed, just at a slightly lower level this year. Though he cranked out a 9.87 at Trials. Meanwhile this year’s American Trio of Fred Kerley, Marvin Bracy and Trayvon Bromell have been sharp as a tack. With Fred seemingly on a mission to run as fast as humanly possible! Throwing down a series of 9.83, 9.76, and 9.77 to win the US title. Our old nemesis, Jamaica seems to be getting new life. As Yohan Blake (9.85) is back under 9.90. Along with new kid Oblique Seville (9.86). Add Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala (9.85) to the mix, and we have the potential for a very explosive final. Fred is my prohibitive favorite as we begin Worlds. Prohibitive because Bromell did not run his best race in Trials final. Both Kerley and Bromell look like they can go a bit faster, which should strike fear into everyone else. Based on everything I’ve seen this season, my call is for: Fred Kerley Trayvon Bromell Lamont Jacobs
That is Conway Hill, there are other sites out there besides this one.....really!
All the dominant Eastern European competition at the time was doping and destroying world records and dominating the medals, dating back to the 1970s, so it was inevitable that some Americans--most likely Flo-Jo--started doping, and beating their less naturally talented or worse trained competitors. Where have the Eastern Europeans been since the fall of the USSR? They've either been bad or been caught doping. Flo Jo, however, was capable of that 10.49 under a +2.0 wind as she was not all out and was not pushed that year, except in the 4x4 in Seoul. And women, whether doped or not, can run 10.49, as we'll likely see this year or next with your favorite two Jamaican runners, who were running 10.54 well under the legal wind (only +0.9), which would be very close to 10.49 with +2.0, and many 10.6-10.67s last year. Of the top fourteen performances all-time, eight were run last year or this year already by Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. The only others under 10.70 are the doper Marion Jones and the likely doper Carmelita Jeter.
