Anyway big sis went 458, 448, 438, 432 7th to 10th grade mile conversions... Including 1500 conversions... Be interesting to see what his mile times end up being over the same period...
There’s about a 1% chance he runs that fast next year and there’s no guarantee he’ll ever be as fast as any of the NP brothers. Maybe he will, but having a fast older sister doesn’t give him an advantage over other talented young runners.
i mean u r right, having katelyn tuohy as a sister doesnt give you track wins and he needs to work hard to be a national-caliber runner like his sister... but i think one thing we can takeaway from him having a fast older sister is that he naturally has superior genetics than the other kids ... if you look at ryan tuohy's times, its fast but its not the fastest but then if we consider the fact that this is his first season running track and on his first few races he breaks the school records and goes sub 10.. he has talent for sure.
Having an outstanding distance runner as a sibling in no way indicates having superior genes compared to all other runners. The Assumas and Mastalirs were very fast but I don’t recall a single non-twin sibling in U.S HS distance running with similar elite ability. Bill McChesney had older brothers that had difficulty breaking 14:00 and I ran with an 8:56 HS runner at SDSU who had a younger brother that ran 9:30. In baseball, Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey had younger brothers that couldn’t advance past Single A. That NP has 3 non-twin elite brothers is part of what’s so mind-boggling about NP distance running.

Her brother has just started his first track season and ran his first 3200m races, the fact that he's an 8th grader and every race he runs, some posters immediately makes a thread about it, gets u an idea that they will never leave this kid alone if she continues to progress just like what they did to his sister..

BTW Katelyn ranks top 10 in the US right now for the 5000m and she's a sophomore, she also broke the ncaa sophomore record w her solo 15:14, ncaa top 8 all-tine
Finally. Semihaze realized that Tuohy isn't close to world class. Tuohy is 45 seconds from being world class. The odds are that she never will be. How fast was Hassan at 20? How about Koko? How about 95% of world class runners? A tiny percentage of world class runners were not world class at 20.
