You will (hopefully) be benefitting from a slightly higher paying job having gotten those degrees. If you get those loans forgiven then you shouldn't be allowed to be paid as much for those jobs.
If the jobs don't help you get paid more then why were you stupid enough to pay a bunch of money for something useless? It sounds like a personal problem.
I went to an affordable state school to become an engineer, I worked some summer jobs to have as little loans as possible and lived in a cheap apartment below the median so that I wouldn't be wasting money that I don't have on a glamorous apartment while in college, and I wasn't going on spring break trips with money that I didn't have. I paid them off in about two years, now I'm in my upper 20's sitting very good. I guess I could have been irresponsible and made minimum payments waiting for my fellow Americans to pay off my loans for me.
People need to be more responsible.
