Utah - Probably the Olympic Oval track. It is something like 450 yds and open to the public. BYU probably has the next best one.
Idaho - I’m not aware of any permanent decent size indoor tracks. That leaves the 200m wooden track they occasionally put up at Idaho State for the Simplot Games and a few more meets. I don’t think it is ever open for public jogging.
Boise State used to have a very nice 200 banked track, but they got rid of it a couple years ago. So yes the wooden track at Idaho State is the only one in Idaho. And no it is not open to the public.
The Boise track at The Idaho center was terrible. It was rickety and made so much noise it sounded like a heard of buffalo stampeding during every race. I'm shocked no one was injured on it.
Thanks for the info. Missing Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, West Virginia. I'm guessing many of these don't even have indoor tracks.
You are missing CA and NV as well but I don’t believe either currently have an indoor track.
There was once one in CA at Fresno state, it was an odd 150 meter track that was loaned to Portland to be used as a warmup track for 2016 Worlds in Portland and it never came back.

The Boise track is embarrassing. They have tried repeatedly to get new funding for a new facility but have failed.
With 3,000 permanent, 1,000 portable and 237 VIP seats. 200m Hydraulically Banked Track (Only one west of the Mississippi)
World Records are set there!!
I assume the track is only temporary right?
The track can be removed to host other events such as basketball, gymnastics, etc. It's brand new and USATF Indoor Championships will be the first major event held there, so the statement "world records are set there" may be true in the future but is speculative as of right now.

It was actually 145 YARDS! I heard it's in a warehouse somewhere waiting for someone to buy it.

No wonder no one could figure out how many laps there were at any standard metric distance, and by "no one," I mean the people responsible for counting laps. 🤦♂️

Oh man we must have been at the same meets. They would just stick a bunch of kids out there and try and figure out the lap counting and a bunch would get lapped. It was like 11 laps to the mile.

U of Idaho track in Moscow is way better tbh, it's flat and weird 270 meters or something but it's so much better than the stinking wood
Notre Dame’s oversized track might be better. Too bad South Bend is a dump though.
Wrong. The best indoor track in Indiana is in Indianapolis and has been for over 30 years, NIFS (National Institute for Fitness and Sport) 200m banked hydraulic track.
+1. NIFS is by far the superior indoor track in the Hoosier State.
