The problem is that the COVID measures are of provincial jurisdiction. So is the Vax passport. So i’m not sure why they went to Ottawa. It’s unfortunate that the interviewer did not ask that question.
different provinces are at different stages regarding this. It’s possible that some provinces may be out of the mandates in 4 weeks or so. But that is not Trudeau’s jurisdiction.

We are not OK with this, believe me. I can't believe the stuff about freezing bank accounts. Just heard a whole entire segment today with an expert who is trying to sell the government AI to flag accounts... Not for laundering, or terrorism, but for dissent. It's crazy.
This is where pressure needs to be applied to the good people in law enforcement. This clown is nothing without the actual physical enforcement at his command. Take that away. Let law enforcement know that they are personally and individually wrong if they enforce his immoral agenda. There are so many ways law enforcement can take an indirect approach to stifling their dictator's will and still keep their jobs and livelihoods: slow-play everything, half effort, look the other way, make judgement calls, use technicalities, soft pedal, etc.
In some cases, this is exactly what’s happening. The emergency measures gives the government a way to do what Canadians actually want, stop the blockades. Cutting the financing will make a difference.

Canada has a country that is 80% + vaxxed and still you buy the government line that there is an “emergency” that justifies this before unthinkable government overreach.
We are at year two of this “emergency” how many more years will you let your government just strip away your civil liberties in the name of an emergency? This is tyranny 101- declare an emergency, scare the population and take away their freedoms to “protect them”.

Canada is more socialist in nature though. And we have similar dividing lines creeping in that are influenced by behavior in the US. And that is expected as we share the longest international border in the world and are each other's largest trading partners. Religions, language and culture are close.
However Americans seem to be very split 50/50 in politics which is really tribalism (our guy vs your guy). In Canada there is some tribalism to be sure, but not nearly to the same degree. Currently, there are two primary parties yelling at each other and two other parties opposing things in the media. But, when it comes to brass tax, it gets down to two parties in the end, left vs right. It is never two rights or two lefts going at it, federally. So, tribalism, like a religion.
I am absolutely fine with using the Emergency Measures Act. For those who may not know, the Emergency Measures Act was formally named the Canadian War Act. So, this provides the government with sweeping powers, but the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protect the citizens from abuse of that power.
The local police can arrest, but the federal RCMP have to or had to be sworn in to be able to act locally in Ottawa (I think).
This convoy is not unlike the Insurrection in Washington to a degree. I hope they clear the illiterate, selfish, truck drivers out of there. They are independents and are supposedly "funded" by someone or an organization as they couldn't afford to sit there with an empty truck and burn fuel for several days. If they were driving for Coca Cola, UPS, FEDEX, McDonalds they would have been fired on their asses and should be.
