Just do what I do man. Show up at 9am. Punch the clock. Take a two hour lunch at home with a nap. Punch out at 4. Figuratively of course. No one gives a sh!t when I’m actually there. Take the summers essentially off…definitely don’t bother with a camp. Take a month off over the holidays. I do whatever my “DI athletes” tell me to do and everyone is happy. We’re not very good of course…but I do my actual job - what the profession is - very well. Rave reviews from admin & athletes alike. And we’re always bottom 3rd of the conference. Fuk it man. Just give’em what they want. I used to be very competitive & hard working but the “athletes” made me miserable. I’ve never been happier since I gave up.
Oh. Forgot one thing. Act like you’re best friends with the worst of your “DI Athletes.” That way when they ask you for letters of rec/help with anything in the future, you can ruin their fuking lives as payback. Winners win baby.
