1500 and 10k for Shelby at the trials? If you were Shelby, why distract yourself with the 10k? Didn’t think she would have a shot at medaling in that event unlike in the 15.

It is at least what Sinclaire said on the podcast - that she’s training for a 10k right now. The BTC group is in trouble for the 10k though if Hall and Infeld are in bad shape. That just leaves Gwen and possibly Cranny or Fraser (who probably won’t be in Olympic-ready shape). Maybe he wants to add Shelby in the mix. I do think it’s weird she hasn’t raced, and outside of BTC I think it’s weird Keira D’Amato isn’t racing to snag the Olympic standard. She could be a contender if she gets it.
So Gwen’s now in the best shape on BTC and the big hope to make the team for the 5k/10k?
Hall lags behind on all of Gwens video and I don’t think she will be that good again. Johnson’s was pure awful and maybe she thought this was a nothing meet half way though and why bother . Fraser was wearing two big booties just a few months ago . Yikes ! Infield , I still like her but yea this is weird with her .

2) No offense to Kate but Jerry is trying to coach people to win medals.

3) Might she make a team because she's not wit the BTC? Yes. But I imagine Jerry thought "to be able to run x, you've got to be able to do y" in practice and it didn't work out.
This is a really thick-headed position to take.
You're telling me that if you recruited a really good kid to come to Cornell, a kid you thought may one day be able to win NCAAs, you'd start having him do 110 miles per week and 20 milers and 12x 1k right off the bat? I mean, "that's what it takes to win medals" after all. Or would you take the athlete where they are and progressively bring them along?
As someone else mentioned, the results being all over the map kind of speaks to a cookie cutter approach from Schumacher. Yeah, his recipe might work for a veteran grinder like Ahmed, or someone who's been around the block several times like Centrowitz. But it's not a great sign of one's coaching chops when they take someone who made an Olympic team over 800 meters doing a lot of things wrong (training at altitude, changing coaches every couple years, not in a fully supported setup) and they stagnate. Kate Grace was never going to thrive on 8-10 miles of threshold work every week, but he couldn't see beyond his tunnel vision and all the excess smoke in the air from people blowing it up his ass all the time.
Based on her Strava and videos on the Bowerman IG page, I’m pretty sure Schweizer was early in early March.
Someone back in 2020 made a comment about how BTC is good at setting up perfect scenario races with perfect pacing and know variables to time trial some quick times, but there was some speculation on how this would transfer into actual racing. Obviously it’s way too early to tell, but I’m curious to see how it all plays out at the trials.
Only a handful of the female athletes have been regularly racing non-BTC races, e.g., Sinclaire and GDS.
There are just too many good athletes out there now to be only BTC killing it. Makes this upcoming trials much more exciting. BTC also have some athletes that are past it.
This normal for BTC, injured athletes and a great IG game.
Suck for emily, shes likeable.

Given the other talent outside the BTC is still very unlikely she will make either. She’s still on the B squad.

In this sense “drifting or diverging” go look up the word. It has other meanings besides used as “but I digress” .. glad you were able to extract the point of the thread though, interestingly poor performances from these elite women is nothing compared to you having to use a thesaurus.
Extract? Do you even know what that word means? Just admit you were looking the opposite of "progress" and fumbled with your words.
Also, you seem to start a lot of threads bashing the BTC women and it borders on a weird obsession. Why?
Hahaha it’s a discussion thread you half wit. Go hobby jog back to college so you can understand English words and if you don’t like discussions on athletes go sit down somewhere. The only thing weird here is you getting defensive over a team you don’t run for or know personally.
for the people mentioning Karissa, she got her second vaccine dose yesterday or the day before so that's likely why she didn't race this once

Sure, resort to name calling and avoiding questions, that's original.

To answer your question, I am actually a fan of most of the women on the team and if you read my posts, I root for Vanessa, Karissa, Shelby and especially Elise because she’s a great person as well (Marielle and Emily are too). If there’s one person I’m negative about it’s Gwen and that’s because I could never shake the opinion I had about the since-deleted tweet when she first transitioned to running. I found her arrogant and less talented than she thought she was. However, I believe she has some humility now but if I’m negative it’s typically about her. Maybe she’ll make one of the Olympic teams and shut me up for good.

Emily, in her own words re: last night's race:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CO83Ih4AMTK/People that left struggle with the influence that Shalane has had since her retirement.
Quigley never bought in.
Cragg just ignored her.
Gwen just goes straight to Jerry.
Marielle has now left the group for the same reason.
I can’t say much more without exposing myself.
Shalane has created dysfunction within the group.
Marielle has left the group? Also, what Emily said made perfect sense and it sucks she had no legs last night but Jerry should know better than to give that short of notice after a tough block at altitude. I mean at least I think he should? Glad she said she has the speed though so she’s still a contender in the 10k at least.

Marielle was a superstar bf she joined BTC. Jerry wrecked her. How on earth can you deteriorate that fast.
Emily's problems are from Jerry's method of wrecking runners. Too many "I don't knows" on her IG
