Ok..
But tactically, as a sit and kicker, how does he continue to tailor his style that he has had for years knowing that even with the fastest kick, he can't beat Grijalva.

When they’re both in top form he will beat Grijalva. I have no idea what you’re getting at here. It’s like you’re convinced he’s washed even though he ran 13:00 a year ago.
I would not spend time here responding if I thought he was washed up.
I just don't see the problem with what he did other than Centro winning the heat over Teare's Oregon teammate.
He will get back to prime shape his way.
My main point is Teare's complaint has little merit to anything other than a personal perception.

The problem is that he ran in the B heat when he should have been in the A heat, then bragged about winning as if 13:32 is something to be proud of for a 13:00 guy. If he didn’t come off as such a douche or was coming back from an injury people would cut him a lot more slack.
Not everyone agrees that it was a "douche" move.
Not everyone has to.
Would it have been a "douche" move if Teare's Oregon teammate wasn't the one defeated ?
And if it was, what would it matter if it was?
Especially to Teare.
How did he even brag? Post on insta?

Ok since none of you have seemed to listened to the podcast (nothing wrong with that) I'm going to clear up a bunch of misconceptions on this thread.
1- The idea that Teare has any beef with Centrowitz or Tanner Anderson. Both situations, with Andersons text and Centrowitz's immaturity seem to be inside jokes between good friends.
2- The notion that Teare is mad at Centrowitz for winning the race. In the podcast, Cooper simply says he thinks Hocker had the best performance, because he closed very fast, set a massive PR, and went under 14 for the first time to run 13:32 or whatever. He acknowledges that Centrowitz rightfully won the race, just thinks Hocker did better.
3- Teare was mad about Centro running the B heat. Teare wasn't mad or annoyed that centro ran the B heat, just confused because most times from the A heat were around 13:30 anyway.
I agree with most..
Except #3: Grijalva, Teare, Hunter all went sub 13:19....
Of the top elites, few were at 13:30 in the A because Centro would have been 8th within them.
I hope Cooper doesn’t become the next face of American distance running. Entitled brat comes to mind with him.
Nope, you gotta explain that. Can’t just blindly hate. How is he an entitled brat you old troll??
3:55/13:17 and he’s not even 22 yet. Stuck with his team and committed to working with the new coach Ben Thomas. Plans to stay at UO to finish up degree, win titles, and come out as a pro before Oregon World Champs. What specifically is your prob... sad you can’t make it pro like him??
Centro didn't enter himself into the B heat, his coach did because it was a training run.
Centro won the B heat because he's Centro and has an Ego to protect.
Centro is in perfect shape for somebody who is 31 and has nothing to win in 2020. There is no world record for fastest finishing lap in a 1500.

But there is a gold medal for a fast last 600m (1:17.9) after cruising 2:16 the first 800m.
What is the difference, in you perspective?

Because you haven't been paying attention.
You probably weren't watching when Coop finished a disappointing 11th at Foot Locker West as a junior, or when he fell at the start of NXN '16 killing any chance of a podium finish after a phenomenal senior season of XC.
You probably blinked in 2017 when he came back during indoors and won a national title in the indoor mile.
You were probably on the can when he traveled to the Texas Distance Festival in 2017 to race against top competition in a fast 5k and won in 14:13, the fastest time by a high schooler going back four years.
You were probably peeing while Coop gave everything to try and break four minutes in the mile, running 4:02 or faster 4 or 5 times as a senior, including 4:00.16 at Mt. Sac- a race that won't be forgotten by anyone who saw it.
We get it, you missed Coop's come up because you weren't paying attention like the rest of us. But it's okay because you can start being a fan right now. Welcome to the Cooper Teare Fan Club!
Centro's got two outdoor World medals, one indoor gold, and an Olympic gold. He also has many U.S. championships and pr's of 3:30/13:00. He wins races usually with long drives, not short kicks.
He is probably the most unapologetically immature person in all of track and field when he's not running, but on the track he is the wisest and most seasoned racer we've had other than Bernard Lagat. He is also very bright in talking about running and so, like his father, he'll make a fine coach someday.
Cooper Teare has a bright, bright future in the sport with 3:55/13:17 at his age. Of course, Centro got his first world medal in 2011 while still at the University of Oregon, so Teare's got a long way to go to reach the most credentialed U.S. born miler ever. I think he is a fine prospect to break 13.
What’s this???? A reasonable post on Letsrun???? Someone alert the press ?
Honestly scrolled through the early part of the thread & might've missed the context. Is this all about a teammate getting outkicked in the b heat because Centro ducked the 1st heat but still wanted a hard effort? I don't see the issue. I assume Hocker will have thought it was cool to go toe to toe with an Olympic Champ. Plus most runners would be ok with a 2nd if it gets them a decent time. Centro should have been in the 1st heat but he/Jerry didn't think he was fit enough and gave him a confidence-boosting win. Pretty par for our sport. It is what it is. I like Cooper. I like Centro. I don't see a huge problem.
I predict that Centro never beats Teare in a race. Teare is moving in one direction and Centro in the other.

Teare/Oregon isn't the only one thinking it was a douche move. BYU's Clayson Shumway:
