Actually, it’s the final individual event. They’ll all go all-out. They’ve got a feel for how the altitude affects them as individuals. They’ll run within themselves. They will NOT want it to be tactical, there are too many closers (such as McCabe). I think it’ll be pretty quick from the start. (I agree that Tuohy will go, but I think she liked the 800m gear-ratcheting yesterday and will go similarly tonight).
With all this in mind, as they’ll be going fast, I think they’ll go out in 6:00 for the first 2k. (Not MEGA fast, but it is altitude). Tuohy makes a MASSIVE move with 600m to go.
Tuohy wins in 8:50. 2nd is McCabe in 8:55 with Roe in tow after a hard-fought battle with McCabe in 8:56.
I would be shocked if it's that fast. USATF indoors was just there and Constien won in 8:48 over Whittni Morgan, an 8:30 runner, in a not too tactical race. Constien, Morgan and Henes also all train at altitude.
I think Tuohy moves with a k to go, atleast, like ACCs. She can't leave it too late.
Women’s Bowerman is going to impossible to decide this year. At least one of Touhy, Moore, Alfred or Wilson will not even be a finalist.
Yeah, crazy year! It’s like each event that starts, they’re naming the competitors and its like: ”Well, 2 minutes ago SHE was the Collegiate Record holder, but then so-and-so just broke it.” Or, now we have a new Collegiate Record AND American Record.” Or, “Just missed the World Record!”
Charisma Taylor… 5th LJ, 3rd 60 Hurdles and 2nd in the TJ behind Jasmine breaking the old collegiate record. pretty impressive to be so good across 3 events
