Incredibly arrogant behaviour by the athlete and incredibly bad for the image of US athletics. A banned athlete would not be allowed to race in the national championships in the UK. Just wouldn't happen.
How can any Americans who support this claim that American sport is clean? How can the ongoing ban singling out Russia have authority without looking simply racist?
The US athletics governing body needs to get this sorted out.
Assuming Houlihan qualifies at trials, AND if an an appeal is launched AND accepted by a Swiss court, application can then be made for an anjunction.... AND if that's granted... Houlihan could potentially participate in the "2020" Olympics. My guess is she'll run the trials, but even if she qualifies, she won't go, making room for an alternate. I don't think anyone wants to see Houlihan on a podium under cloud of a doping conviction. Even having the appeal heard is a long shot: "Is it possible to appeal against a CAS award ? It was already loaded with Sham and Fraud. Maybe the impassioned speech of one of the coaches caused some of the higher-ups behind the closed doors in the major 'stakeholders' boardrooms to rethink their strategy on this one.

That makes sense. The one flaw I see though is that her being allowed to compete affects the prelims as well. So, if she gets top 3 in the final and her appeal fails, then the 4th woman makes the team. However, if she advances to the final, then that keeps another woman from the prelims out of the final that could have had a chance at competing for top 3. This is a mess of a situation.

She already tried. She's been trying since January. She exhausted her appeals. She was found guilty of a doping offense. There's nothing left to prove, except whether or not a cheater can game the system.

I LOVE this idea. She gets to run her race, and the stadium gets to give her the shaming she deserves.
What does that even mean?
That PoleVaultPower guy seems to be operating on the incorrect assumption that a US district judge has granted Shelby an injunction. That is not the case. This is USATF's decision.
