good luck on your recovery, and if what i said above is right, maybe consider your coach?
What is/was the advice of your coach ?

I'm not sure what you are asking, i dont have a personal coach, i am reading what everyone else says on here and what is use from books and research to do my personal hobby jogging.
But i would not be doing low mileage marathon training and certainly not with 20X400m @68s with a foot injury.
re the shoes; it really doesnt matter what make and model of quality shoe you get provided, if you think you have an exceptional foot problem, it fits properly and is capable of, and has been adapted specially for your problem.
if you have foot problems and are injured, if you are not happy with your shoes. i suggest you discuss this with an expert and in particular talk to people with expereince of taking solid time off at such periods and feeling huge benefit after with an increase of form after rest.
What is the magic js advice? he has now got one runner with two injuries in 7 months, despite never having had any other injuries. why two? why has he not addresed it, and what does he think to something like a three week recovery period and expert fitted shoes?

Apology for confusion, but it was directed to Slava.
Wondering what JS told Slava what to do. Go ahead with the 20x400@68sec or take it a bit easy
Or maybe Slava did not mention the (little) pain to him?

In fairness... I follow canefis on Strava. I do think he can break 3 in early 2021. I think he also has a shot at sub 2:50 and maybe a serious stretch goal of 2:45 if things progress well. In order to do this he will have to ramp up volume and do a lot more marathon specific work.
He runs 65 miles a week at around 7 minute pace with occasional workouts currently. He also has a background in cycling and, it seems, a reasonably well developed aerobic system.
My guess on current fitness:
5k - mid 16s
10 - low 34s
HM - 1:19
Marathon - 2:58
He can just "jog" a marathon race in 2:58 right now! ))
It would be more of a "limp" with his injury right now, that is not so funny "magic coach"

So far I have never done a big mistake when it comes to my world class online coaching, I`m too
experienced for such things. I didn`t know Slava was flat-footed until he told me lately. Before we talked about that then the little pain could be a result of his former frequent surfing activety with his left foot in a strap and twist of the foot. Now when we know the main cause of this pain it sounds correct to get orthopedic inserts and use running shoes with high shock absorption.
I do believe he now with a couple of days rest plus orthopedic inserts and shoes with good shock absorption soon can start again with easy aerob runs.He has so far shown great talent
and fast improvement. And as everybody knows it`s a must to be able to run fast in training
without pain to reach optimum capacity.
So don`t blame the magic wizard coach for this!! :)

A great coach always knows the history about his runner and former injuries, you did not.
When you found out he was flat-footed, you should have altered the training, you did not.
You knew he had a (2times) minor pain, a great coach would IMMEDIATELY dialed back on the training, you did not.
A great coach would not let his student perform a 20x400@68sec training when in pain, you let Slava do this training, WHY??
For one reason and one reason only, for the glory of JS, not for Slava.
Only to make a point that your coaching is great or your favorit remark "magic"
And to say that he made so much progress in such a short time.
Even if it breaks him down and he is not the first victim as we all know.
You do not care about your student, infact, Slava has more knowledge about stuff than you.
I read a lot of great advice here on the board from him and i even think he is a better coach than you are, no i'm sure of it. Something to do about hill training and your remark to the matter was , who's is the magical coach, Slava or me.
Watch and learn from Slava, he is the teacher now and you are the student.
Your two-timing finally caught up with you
Wat is the matter with you anyway?
Everybody knows you do not have what it takes to be a coach.
You just took out some things from the truly great coaches Canova and Daniels and put it together without even a clou how and why they do what they do.
You cannot copy paste a training method without knowledge about the matter
Nobody takes you serious, well, the ones that do are your many fake handles.
Good luck to you Slava, i think by now you know why all the people reacted on you the way they did.
Because Jan like to make thing look like he is the greatest of all time.
He is now training for a world record age 60-65 on the 5 and 10k.
He can run already 2 minutes with 1 minute rest, but with his own system he will have this record in no time, yeah for sure.
And he put it on Strava manually, you and i know that is so easy to fake.

If you dont know your runner is injured, if you dont know he has flatfeet, then you are not communicating with him properly. if you cannot communicate ffectively you cannot be a good coach.
as an engineer making a fag packet esimate - a loose leash on your leg above your ankle does not have the mechanical ability to apply a moment about your ankle.
its quite clear JS - you are an egomaniac, a liar and a fake.
Slava - the only running you should be doing with your injury is as far as possible away from this quack.

9:25 is, at best, a mediocre collegiate 3k time. 2:20 is a very good sub-elite time, a minute off of an OTQ.
175 HR means you probably could've pushed harder. In no way does that effort translate anywhere close to 2:20 though.
I get that some people need to set unrealistic goals to stay motivated, but if you train and try to race like a 2:20 marathoner right now you will blow up.
There's nothing wrong with having that as a longer term goal, but don't delude yourself for the short term.
For goodness sakes it's your first marathon. Run it without crashing and burning then report back.

I think Canefis is looking for a change of plan/coach , just bumped a very old thread about training advice going sub 2:20 on the marathon.
I really hope that you recover soon and looking forward on your 10k tt.
Go Slava

You are the only person here that try to write my world class coaching down! :(
All the handles here with negative input is of course from you. I really wonder why you keep on
this stalking ??
I didn`t know that he was flat-footed until after his last 20 x 400m that became 16 x 400m because he got more pain .What he had told me about possible cause of light pain feeling sometimes in left foot was that he before was a frequent surfer and that the small pain probably
was a result of having the foot in a strap and twisted the foot.
Slava will soon be back to easy aerob runs and then he will not start faster runs until he will be
pain free.
