This. Salazar comes across as the professional version of the guy down at the gym who always has some new "edge" in terms of supplements or deer antler extract or sleeping with your head lower than your legs yada yada yada.

Salazar may know a lot about running, but wow is he dim/gullible when it comes to biochemistry and physiology, at least based on the leaked report.

Kara did release her full medical records to USADA in 2013- while still a nIke athlete. She has said that in interviews. Not coming down on Dathan, but he certain isn't better than her. She never did the L-cart infusion for performance enhancement.

(NONE of the NOP athletes had a TUE for the IV L-carnitine infusions. Alberto told the athletes to keep the IV infusions secret. There is no information in the medical records of any of the 5 athletes to indicate the quantity of L-carnitine given in the IV infusions either in terms of total amount of L-carnitine or by the concentration of the infusion (mg of L-carnitine/mL).

There is also nothing in the medical records about the total volume of the L-carnitine IV infusions in all 5 NOP athletes.

It is just a coincidence that in all 5 athletes this important information is missing in their medical records.

It is also just a coincidence that Dr. Brown altered the medical records of Dathan Ritzenhein by later removing a page which had information on the L-carnitine infusion and adding a notation of "40 mL" to his medical record.

Why did Dr. Brown do that?

It is also just a coincidence that the British doctor who administered the L-carnitine IV infusion to Mo Farah in April 2014 before the London marathon also DID NOT RECORD the amount of L-carnitine administered or the total volume of the IV L-carnitine infusion in the medical records of Mo Farah. Dr. Chakraverty administered the L-carnitine infusion protocol that was given to the head of UK Athletics Barry Fudge by Alberto Salazar.

When he was questioned about this, Dr. Chakraverty stated that he was busy and did not remember to record it in the medical records of Mo Farah.

It turns out that Dr. Chakraverty has a really bad memory and forgot to record this information in the medical records of Mo Farah.

However, Dr. Chakraverty could remember that the L-carnitine IV infusion given to Mo Farah…was exactly 13.5 mL…but with no information on the concentration of the infusion or the total amount of L-carnitine administered to Mo Farah in the IV infusion.

Dr. Chakraverty could remember that he administered exactly 13.5 mL of an IV infusion of an unknown amount of L-carnitine to Mo Farah…and then did not remember to record it in the medical records of Mo Farah.

It turns out that Dr. Chakraverty has a really good memory and a really bad memory…all at the same time.

Dr. Brown also has a really bad memory and forgot to record the total quantity of L-carnitine or the volume of the L-carnitine IV infusions in all 5 NOP athletes.

Not only that... I just checked, and there are a lot of choices for 50,000 IU Vitamin D capsules/tablets/softgels on Amazon. The USADA called it prescription strength, but you definitely don't need a prescription to get it.

Vitamin D is the only supplement that I take. I live in AK, where sunlight is scare in the winter.

This is why many are posting that the document is suspect; things are stated in misleading ways to try and convince a medical board.

I thought it was rather clear that not only did she have injury problems but also her body was "whacked out" and nobody could figure it out and that it was not about a specific injury as it was her hormonal system...I could be wrong but I don't think I am. She was unable to train at levels she had previously been able to ace.

Is anyone else surprised to see Solinksy tangled up in this? Seems like the use of thyroid meds in his case was clear cut cheating (perhaps only within the spirit of the rules). Why wasn't he mentioned in the brojo's article? To me, he is as guilty as the lot. Sad day.

13.5 ml for Farah? Less than half an ounce transfused? Any doctors here ever do that small of a transfusion?

I get the feeling there are quite a few people here who know what's going on and are playing dumb to try to create confusion.

If nobody on NOP gets busted then the other competitors need to grow a pair and not let these guys win. It's not that hard to accidentally trip and fall and inadvertently grab someone as you fall down.

It turns out that Nike CEO Mark Parker had direct involvement in the NOP conspiracy. No wonder Nike's paying for the legal defense fund.

What about money? Do you like the idea that some runners and running clubs have less money than others and can't train longer and harder because they don't have underwater treadmills? Or a deal with a shoe company? Or perhaps that some runners aren't sponsored and can't train as long or as hard as people who are sponsored because they have to waste their energy at work and the stress associated with having to perform well at a job?

Would you then call the running groups with more money cheating? Because they have access to something that is not available to all? And when I say cheating, I mean banning them with the same fervor that you bring against the NOP, Alberto, and Galen.

Heck, following your logic, all western runners in the 1960s were cheating compared to Ethiopian runners because they had access to shoes while the Ethiopians did not. The economy in Ethiopia was so bad that many people could not afford shoes, i.e., they did not have the same advantages as other runners.

Abebe Bikila won in spite of that by the way, which is a cool athletic feat.

So you're not opposed to supplements. Right. The burden is on you to scientifically prove that ingesting even a lot of supplements can provide the same improvements in performance as EPO. Can you provide a statistically significant link between l-carnatine and performance improvement? If so, to what degree?

By the way, the rule for the 50 mL limit is that it's the max infusion you can get without a TUE. You can get a normal infusion amount for something if you have a TUE. I doubt there's a claim anyone could make for a TUE for L-carnitine (or they would have done it, I'm sure), but you could certainly get (or at least have a reasonable expectation of getting) a TUE for other things by infusion, like iron if you have celiac disease, or something similar. Also, there's some kind of provision for emergent situations. I forget the details of that one.

Also, just as a point of reference, when I was getting iron infusions, I was getting 300-500 mL of iron (plus saline) in about an hour.

Anyone else curious about Mark Wetmore and Adam Gouchers name coming up? Reading "Running With The Buffaloes" I was amazed how Gouchers could train at that high a level while starving himself. The book mention a few times how he never ate lunch. I guess you can get away with that in the short term and that rate of training really caught up with him. Enter Dr. Brown.

I don't trust the DNC and they do demonstrate rank incompetence (they thought Hillary was a good candidate, for instance). I trust Trump even less for more compelling reasons and I think he demonstrates even less competence for more compelling reasons.
