I haven't been following this thread recently and just skimmed through the last few pages. Is this summary correct?
1) Prior to departure Kavinoky advertised an attempt to RUN across america.
2) Early in the attempt (1st day?), Kavinoky injured himself and so was unable to run all segments and so rebranded the attempt to "propelling" himself on a JOURNEY across america, presumably with a combination of running and cycling.
3) Kavinoky is not attempting to hide the fact that he is cycling. For example, in the Twitter video posted above, he specifically says that he is going to cover 90 miles "on bike and on foot" and is seen wearing cycling gear or riding a bike in many photos and videos.
4) For the most part, media outlets have not really picked up on the fact that he's not running the entire distance and Kavinoky seems to be parsing words when he speaks to them to both avoid outright lying and correcting the impression that he's running the entire distance. The ABC link in the YouTube video above leads in with "running more than 3000 miles across the country" and Kavinoky refers to it as a "journey" and doesn't say anything about cycling.
5) LRC isn't convinced that he isn't even running/biking the entire way and is instead riding in the RV for large segments.
