Yeah, it's a similar situation with regards to Wisconsin and the UW branch schools. Neither state has much by way of a D2 (compare that to PA, for example) so low-major D1 talent coming out of HS might, to your point, be financially better off at in-state Rowan vs. getting a partial to some out-of-state school.

D3 in particular is really difficult to administrate apples-to-apples because the student profile at Rowan is so different than the profile at MIT, which is so different than the profile at East Texas Baptist. But consider me gently, respectfully skeptical that all of the legitimate D1 talent at Rowan -- putting SC aside for a second -- are paying their own way and are financially better off for doing so.

NJ has Rutgers and Wisconsin has 2 additional D1 schools and a D2 school.

3 additional D1...UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee and Marquette...

1 D2...UW-Parkside

None of them prioritize Cross Country/Track and would get mopped by most of the WIAC.

Also...how is this relevant to SC and him transferring to a D3 after being suspended from a top D1 school after having a breakout race at Nutty?

The upside to UW-P is that they have their own XC course ( that is genuinely hell )

Rowan coaches and AD are dug in at this point. Everyone should be writing to the Rowan Board of Trustees and the NCAA. Relevant contact information for these individuals can be found on page 17 (post #327) of this thread.

I'd encourage everyone to write letters – yes, physical letters – to the members of the Rowan Board of Trustees. It's clear that AD Tucker isn't taking this seriously, so we need to go further up the chain. Here are some addresses I found. Of course it is defamation to make up a false email. We know that didn’t happen because the lawyer would have said it was a false email. Instead he focused on Joe it was illegally accessed which is irrelevant to us as a running community.

Louie "Greasy Lou" Guzzo's statement about the mailing address on the EPO video being "wrong" is also quite intentionally worded. If the entire video was a fabrication, he'd have said that. Instead he focused on an irrelevant detail -- most likely that the address was that of Seth's grandfather and as such is "wrong" -- and is attempting to use that non-sequitur as a reason to doubt the entire thing.

Dimit I can get because it sounds like he's never had strong morals or ethics, but Dubois surprises me. He competed in D3 not long ago. He's been an Asst. coach for 12 years, at which point you think someone would be looking for a head coaching gig.

Just gaming out the next career steps here, I don't know how staying silent helps him at all. Unless he's got a handshake deal that when Dimit jumps ship to a better gig, he'll get Head XC/Track. Even still, that's fraught with uncertainty that Dimit will get a better gig, AND whoever gave him the handshake is still there and will honor it. I don't know, I assume he had no say in the transfer situation but I'm pretty sure he's ruining any hopes at a head coaching gig (Not at Rowan) for any university in the know. Not to mention some of his guys have posted photos of him with the Nat'l champ trophy and he doesn't seem to embarrassed to be coaching there...

You could also write letters to the state politicians. If I'm not mistaken, Rowan gets a significant portion of its revenue from the state.

It’s so ridiculous to even pretend you believe that this is a manufactured controversy and not something that the entire running community outside of Rowan who is aware of this scandal is concerned about. If you actually believe that, you’re probably the dumbest person who has ever posted on this message board. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why people are upset over a doper getting away scot free. Even my friends who don’t run who I’ve told the story to are concerned and think it’s BS that the doper is essentially being rewarded for breaking rules.

Has Rowan responded to any of the Public Records Requests that the Rowancleansport guy has filed? It seems we’d get good insight into the recruiting process of Seth.

It's very telling that Dustin Dimit's peers didn't vote for him for coach of the year. The coach of the national champion winning this award is usually a formality.
