This thread went off the rails a bit with 1 particular poster hijacking it and trying to make it about one moderator so we have locked it.
Before I give my takeaways, if you have concerns about moderating, or posts, please report them or email me directly. We make it very easy to be heard at LetsRun.com and reach us. But if you sidetrack threads by discussing moderation, those posts will be removed and can lead to temporary bans as they ruin the discussion for everyone else.
But some takeaways. 1) Dealing with the problematic posters/troublemakers isn't easy but we need to make sure in dealing with them we do not go too far and harm the experience for other posters 2) The filters often flag people by accident. Exempt SC members from the filters at the very least. 3) Consider creating a toggle so people don't have to see "this post was deleted in a thread". In the posts where the trouble makers try and takeover, these notifications start to ruin the experience. 4) Consider moving some posts out of the main forum. 5) Look at limiting how often people can post in a thread. 6) Try and get a better handle on the use of VPNs by people posting, reporting posts, upvoting, etc. 7) I will actively monitor all of malmo's moderating and posts for the next week and give him feedback. We already actively communicate but some of your points and emails were helpful.
I certainly respect Malmo as a person, and appreciate his comments, and really have nothing to say in terms of the legitimacy of negative Malmo sentiment/deletion complaints, but on a basic level, I do find it odd that moderators are also allowed to post. It just seems like its letting the referee participate in the game. Am I wrong?
ALL of our moderators are posters. That's how the system works. They should not abuse the privilege.
I will be monitoring malmo more closely. I have told him not to lose his cool. But he really is harassed on here. I see the same poster has tried to start 5 threads today trashing him.

Accusing someone of lying isn't a minor disagreement. Its something you don't do. Not ever.
Sounds minor to me.
So, I am a grad of the United States Naval Academy, and a former naval officer. In those arenas, especially at the Academy, lying is a mortal sin. In that sense I can sympathize with being upset at being called a liar.
But in another sense, we f*cked with, joked with, and bullied each other all the time, and if you couldnt handle it, well then maybe you couldn’t handle serving the greatest military the world has ever known.
Point being, bro: don’t claim to be some kind of tough guy if you can’t handle some jokes or ribbing or even bullying.

Hopefully that’s why we are all here. Not expected sex sessions per week. Not young Ukranian girl videos. Not politics. The majority of moderation issues occur when discussions stray from runnig.
My posts are ingenuous not to mention ingenious. I don't play games nor seek attention, but provide relevant facts often ignored or overlooked, and seek relevant facts.
And they are always in the spirit of stimulating thoughtful complementary discussion in a civil way -- the very "raison d'etre" of this board. It is unfortunate that it triggers a small handful who resist such complete discussions.
LOL - can you actually keep a straight face when turning everything upside down? You don't provide facts, you make up stuff, typically embedded in "quotes" of tiny fragments of a sentence, surrounded by your own obfuscating words to turn the facts into the opposite.
You don't seek facts, you argue against and ignore facts. For you, all the scientists are wrong, all the experts are wrong, all the coaches are wrong, all the judges are wrong. all the ... You know everything better—without ever proving it—because you have Google in basement. Civil? Calling people dumb + childish + naive + delusional + trolls, while having posts pointing out your lies deleted is your "raison d'etre".
And you can never admit anything, and must have the last word, always. Hence all the rekrunnering forever and ever.
Wejo - just open any doping thread for a demo, and read the last 5 - 10 pages.
Excellent observations. Some guys noted in the ‘ban Kenya’ thread that rekrunner does it all just to be a contrarian and get some attention, which is true as well. All of it is a sign of deeper problems. His need to derail certain threads through dishonesty while feigning a “who me?” facade makes him as bizarre as Armstronglivs, another phony who constantly *hits up the board with attention-seeking nonsense. For such lightweights they do have rather large egos, another sign of their instability upstairs. Fascinating.
Rek and Armstronglivs do like to clutter and derail, that’s for sure. Undoubtedly a pair of shut-ins. Rek has really been pumping up his output of falsehoods lately.

You keep focusing on the limited number of posters who harass him, which is legitimate (though I would argue driven by his own actions and propensity to get triggered), but don't lose sight of the countless others who object to his behavior. It sounds like you're unwilling to acknowledge the broad consensus and keep trying to convince yourself that it's 1-2 posters complaining.

FYI, Dahl has it in for Malmo. He's behind a lot of the deranged posts about him. It picked up around when he blamed Malmo for limiting his posting about "coaching at a school in San Antonio" and deleting posts where Dahl claimed to have won an event at USATF masters, competed at a trials of miles meet in CA, falsified his prs, and won a nonextant USATF road championship in Texas from last summer so I late last year.

I honestly can say that I have not once seen a post about running from you. Well, I take that back. Once I saw you posting something about “dreadmills.” And maybe another time I saw you post something about the Pig marathon held in the sh!t hole city of Cincinnati. Other than that you’re bragging about being an uber wealthy playboy that maintains a “roster” of hundreds of women.
Throughout this thread, Wejo and Malmo rely on psychological projection, attacking their accusers for precisely the offenses they themselves are guilty of—a tactic infamously used by Joseph Goebbels.
Aside from what I wrote above, why are trolls like 430 miler still allowed to post here? I have seen post after post of his deleted while using the 430 miler moniker and he will come back a bit later post the exact same thing using the same username. It's annoying. just permanently ban him.
While banning 430 miler won't prevent him from posting here anonymously, it will be a start. I am not against freedom of speech but some of his posts are over the line. I suspect that he was the person behind the disgusting Nico threads and the more recent threads about teen girls and those sorts of things.
His anonymous posts are way worse than the posts from his regular username
