Definitely not what Nike planned for. Have to say Fisher/Teare did not look remotely surprised by the failure to keep pace.........honestly Fisher checked his shoulder 600 in and looked surprised she was still there

Needed bicarb + faster first lap. The first lap was not even sub-4 pace.

Either two things happened here. Either she was worse form than she was last year in her 3:49...or pacemaking doesn't make much of a difference in a mile.

Been saying this since she failed to break 1000m WR. She was in shape for that WR in 2023 and 2024 so that she couldn't break it did not bode well for the sub 4 attempt
Paid for that first 800 split dearly in the last 600. Can we stop now with this gimmick and just enjoy watching her run real races and beat all her competition? This stuff is just a commercial for Nike gear.
I'm assuming she has to go straight to the Nike testing tent to give a sample.

Why are there so many people who are so negative on this thread? This was a cool event and Faith ran an unofficial world record. Yeah maybe she was never going to run under 4, but at least she tried. God forbid track and field gets some publicity...
They weren't struggling at all. They were making her the focus and allowing her to cross the finish line first. I swear, some people are so lacking in understanding.
This was fantastic and very inspiring. I'm elated to see so much effort going into it and general excitement even though it failed.
Also LRC should be elated. Basement dwellers get to say they were right.
