He's forming his own pro team. You'll all see soon.
People don’t understand what this means. To start a pro group or get a group started takes a little nerve and boldness. You’re not just getting a call from a shoe company saying “here take this pro coaching job”
This is something you have to pitch and sell for the most part. You can build it around a certain athletes or a certain idea too. Love Brosnan or hate him, he’s a good coach and we know that. There is no reason he can’t coach pros to really fast results. He obviously has the motivation to do it. Most NCAA coaches that people think would be better are scared to give up their benefits and are lazy. Pro coaches need to be motivated to produce and get results. Honestly I put my money on Brosnan succeeding with his pro group. It won’t be happening overnight, but it will be good for the sport. Unlike most deadbeat coaches in the NCAA.
When Bob Larsen first went to Nike to start his own pro group (with Deena and Meb) he was laughed out of the room. It was not until Meb broke the 10000m AR in 2001 did they take him seriously. This was a decorated UCLA coach with multiple NCAA team championships at the time.
I can only imagine the response Sean Brosnan, who has no good record outside of a few good seasons in HS, will get.

Bob Larsen was not laughed at by Nike when he first went to nike for Mammoth TC... it was when he went for funding back in 1976 for the Jamul Toads. Get your story straight.
And to compare SB to Coach Larsen is simply absurd. Stop.

Brosnan is a game changer. I’ve been involved in the Running World for a long time. He adds excitement and is a phenomenal coach. No one is saying Larsen / Brosnan is better or worse. It’s just exciting to see a person with this much passion and ability coach at any level. You get haters once you’re successful. It’s an unspoken way of saying you made it in your industry. All that being said, I actually know Bob Larsen very well and he’s ironically a Brosnan fan and they stay in contact.
If you believe this forum Brosnan is currently: cruising around in a Range Rover, working on a book, sold a screenplay(?), forming a pro team, going to Paris, hanging out in Flag and might be replacing Wetmore. How does he have time for all this?

There are lots of trolls telling stories about Brosnan. But he definitely has a book coming out. That has been known for a while now. He’s not going to Colorado and he will tell you that.

This will probably be good for future job prospects. It shows that he is very good at time management
Fun fact - Brosnan and Rankin were roommates and trained together in the Bay Area at one point. Brosnan is atypical and not a run-of-the-mill kind of guy. Some may think his vagabond lifestyle was odd. However, he spent time with many different top coaches. He lived in Colorado, California, NC, Eugene and Portland for a number of years. He got close with certain Nike coaches and obviously gained tons of knowledge. I remember him doing some crazy workouts as an athlete when he worked with Scott Simmons in North Carolina. When I asked him about this he told me he would never train an athletes as he trained himself. My point is not everyone learns by becoming a grad assistant at FSU, driving a van and holding a watch. I’m not saying you can not learn to coach that way. I’m saying Brosnan took the path right for him. We tend to criticize what we don’t know. We do know Brosnan gets very good results with his coaching. No one said you have to be a fan or like dude. Brosnan is obviously well connected at Nike and with that people criticize and call him a Nike shill. When will the insanity end. I’m personally excited to see where Brosnan ends up. Maybe back in the NCAA or maybe with some kind of pro group. Either way, no need to hate. Life if too short for all this negativity.
Let’s keep the Peace and love baby ☮️
You know Brosnan is posting in the thread when you see a lengthy BS post defending him with 12 upvotes just 10 minutes after it's posted. there aren't even 10 people that still look at this thread.
Brosnan is clearly posting and then upvoting himself on every device he has.
The only time I ever thought it was Sean’s post was when in 2019 after NXN someone posted as “realseanbrosnan” saying “stop saying mean things about me” after people started talking smack about him
Clearly, the wrong Sean was fired. Sean C. cut so many good runners with potential. Sean B. should replace him
I've got a few questions for those plugged into the Brosnan job situation.
If he's got a job lined up for the fall, why is he applying for all these college openings?
If he's actually one of the best coaches in the country, why does he keep losing out on jobs? I hardly think anyone is putting Sean Smith (CBU), Jordan Carpenter (SFU) on their short list of the best coaches in the country. Carlson obviously has a way more impressive resume, but being an assistant at OK St doesn't seem like the position that would beat out one of the best coaches in the country. Are these AD's just idiots or is it possible Brosnan just isn't the coach he (and his fan club) thinks he is?

Why the same people cry because Brosnan is one of the best coaches in the country

It's weird the same people think he's one of the best coaches in the country, yet the one's who matter (those doing the hiring), don't seem to agree. Why do job's keep passing on him if he's so good?

Why are jobs passing on him ? I know at least one school that contacted him and he passed on the interview. I assume he has no interest to return to the NCAA or at least not this particular school. Not everyone can just pick up and leave their current state and situation.
