I agree that a fresh Tuohy would have been the on-paper favorite. But, since the race indeed did not happen, I think you breeched decorum by not throwing in a “probably” or somesuch, as Gault did. Poor form.

I’m an a$, clearly, but I do have standards
Awesome. That's what we need around here. An ass with standards.
we might need to start a dialogue on Henes this season. She’s a great coach but like NAU, there was not a strong NC state presence for distance this year. They did have 3 runners in the 10k but besides that, Tyynismma was the only person on the team to have a solid outdoor season the whole way through and she came in January. So her base was built up through Alabama. Sam Bush and Sydney Seymour, both all americans last year got hurt and missed ACC’s and regionals. Tuohy obviously hasn’t been herself since the 15:03 and probably before then. Chmiel should be the 2nd best distance runner in the NCAA rn. Blue chip high school recruit who was overshadowed by a national record holder and 2x NXN champ in her own state, dropped in both the 5 and 10k at nationals, not even close to the win. Everyone else kinda performed as expected but im just wondering how Henes does the outdoor season. She gets them right for XC but track is totally different. Does she coach any pros? I know her most recent NC state greats, her daughter Elly and Hannah Steelman both moved to Flagstaff and Mike Smith coaches them. It’s just weird because they did well in Eugene last year as a team so what changed?
There may be a reason Starliper threw subtle shots at her in her CU transfer post
Jesus Christ please do not start fu*ck*ing dialogue on this. Quit trying to be her d*amn coach. It’s running dawg, it’s fuc*king running 😂. NC state can’t be touched with the amount of distance firepower they have. ThEy DiDnT hAvE a StRoNg PrEsCeNcE. My god I hate the people in my sport 😂

I’m kind of scared to ask, but what does this word salad even mean?
What in the world is wrong with me hoping that Tuohy lose? I think she is formidable, yet I root for her rivals. That doesn’t mean I’m a pervert. I hope she loses every single race she runs. I don’t care if she’s the best teammate in the world. I still hope she loses. For goodness sake, some of you people act as if it’s flat-out evil to not pledge total devotion. What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with YOU? Sheesh.

Going back to my original post that Katelyn has been near constantly targeted on the boards and by track and field fans going back to middle school, she is not an athlete who was allowed to grow and mature the way most athletes are.
Learning about sportsmanship, about how to be a gracious loser is a big part of character. Katelyn has character, but when you are a kid, who since age 13 has experienced an oversized amount of pressure, it's hard to zero in on stuff like sportsmanship, when you now have to worry about the whole country calling you a burnout. Imagine your worst race in high school. Picture the disappointment, the heartbreak, the lost sleep. Now imagine that everyone who runs cross-country/track in the entire country knew about this race and are talking about it online, at meets, everywhere. That's what it was like for her.
At 21, Katelyn DOES need to learn to do better in this department. She has shown tremendous character and humility after wins. I really admire her for that. She is always crediting her teammates, always making it about them and not her. But stalking off the track after a loss is not a good look. She is not entitled to a win. She is a competitor win or lose.
This post was really kind of dramatic to begin with but worse yet, it aged like milk in the Austin TX heat. Might want to check out the Flotrack podcast. One of the Flotrack broadcasters personally witnessed Tuohy congratulating her competitors after the race in a cool down area.
Always got to consider the source and the motivations for some of the misinformation on here. People literally just make stuff up. And others just believe it.

I do now feel sorry for you, life must have been hard for you rooting against an individual as successful as Tuohy. For any athlete I follow and support I'll cheer their milestones and progress even if they not routinely winning and at the same time I'll appreciate the talent of the winner even if I'm not a fan, It's called a positive outlook. Personally I could never have a permanent downer on any athlete given the the work, commitment and sacrifices the very best have to endure.

Honest question here. Did she go to the awards and stand and get her award with everyone? I’ve seen photos of others who podiumed and I can’t see Tuohy in any photos? Really not throwing shade just curious as if not she may have been actually pretty sick after - or I just haven’t seen photos w her in them but it appears in many that her spot is empty?

Do you have links to any of the awards photos? Do they usually have the awards ceremony immediately after the race or at the end of the meet?
Why do you keep bringing up a runner involved in a major doping and abuse scandal whose coach is the subject of a criminal prosecution? You keep talking about this fraud. No one is fooled. Are you so desperate to troll? Even trolls should have standards, and not rely on such a utter disgrace. And yes KT would most likely have won the 5000m if that was only race she ran unless she was ill. There would be no issue of going out to hard.

I think immediately after - I just saw some quick videos on some other teams social media showing their athlete on the podium - they all appear to be still in racing singlets. It just looked like Tuohy wasn’t in her spot and there was an empty space. I can’t find any official NCAA photo site? That would just be very telling as to how bad she felt if she was a DNS to awards. although she probably isn’t sick w the flu or anything since she was just at the White House yesterday.
