WOW
WOW
Predicted it all week.
I'm truly stunned by this.
"Heart of a lion", eh?.....
so she races in an event that's not her strongsuit and scratches from an event that's in her wheelhouse. weird.
Henes, what are you thinking?
They are thinking of USTAF. There was no reason for her to try to grind the 5000m out. Hopefully just resting.
Seems pretty clear that she’s more cooked right now than they thought. Need to regroup for USAs

thats what I was thinking, but still, very surprised by this
She gave away the 5000m to try the 1500m. But I am happy she scratched if it is just to give her a rest. Took a risk that did not pay off. Another day.
No, c’mon. Running this race is not impacting per performance at nationals. Let’s have the dust settle and see if she’s been ill or something, but if she fit and then scratches what is likely her last collegiate track race ever….that would be sad.
be a bit fair. She had a bad run, so is devastated. She also may know that she burned herself in 1500m, so is not interested in just running around, albeit there maybe the points.
Surely many on here, as ex athletes, would know what it is like to miscalculate and perform badly.
Give her a break. She has many successes already, and can bounce back.
Well, the reason was to get an NCAA title. That's a pretty good reason. USATF could get her on the team, but there are actually a lot of U.S. women who have run at least ten seconds faster than her and several who have run 20-40 seconds faster (Schweizer, 14:26, Monson 14:32, several in the 14:40s, etc.).

she looked totally spent after that 1500, musta been more grueling than I thought.
It wont be her last college race. And her coach is the one making this call.
She’s going to run track again? No, that would be surprising.
or its as simple as she's fighting a bug or allergies.
I think she is at least coming back for xc.
THIS. Bagging this for that would be stupendously wrong headed.
