What do you mean by “really fast new runners”? Transfers? Freshmen? I haven’t heard of anyone transferring in. Teams coached by Doug Soles are always so deep that there’s never a freshman boy that makes the top 7 because of their age. But they do make an impact sophomore year or later.
Also look how many Wardles there are on the team.
But a lot of people did step up from last year.
They were also missing junior Micah Tang (Jonah’s twin brother)
I heard they were going to have some crazy fast freshman (that's just what I heard)
Well, the fastest freshman here ran a 15:08 2.5 mile
Is Niwot really gonna finish that high this year? Will they even qualify for NXN? They got American Fork, Herriman, Riverton, and Lone Peak in their region.
Niwot will be hard pressed to even finish 5th in a stacked southwest region. Rocco Culpepper could always pull a crazy one and finish in the top 10 though…

You’re probably thinking of the person who pretended to be an incoming freshman who said he “hopes to suprise you”
Why is everyone so high on herriman? They have a solid top 3 but are you guys really thinking that some 9:30/4:30 guys as their #4 and #5 are going to help them when it comes to NXN/NXR? What am I missing here?
It’s called development. Good programs convince kids that they can level up in the off-season so they come into the following season as a higher caliber runner. That’s why with good programs it doesn’t matter if they lose 3-4 seniors from their top group every year because development happens in the next 6-9 months with the winter/spring/summer. This is why Herriman and a handful of other programs around the country will always have Top 20 in Nation potential.

Last year’s Herriman 2.5 time trial times 12:29 12:47 13:11 13:19 13:29
This year’s times 12:13 12:37 12:38 12:51 12:59 13:06 13:07
So Herriman is better than last year at every position. 7 guys ran faster than last year’s third
Last year, Jenkins ran a 12:29. He placed 16th at NXN This year Steadman ran a 12:13. Where can he finish at NXN?
stop this jenkins got better are more fit as the season continued. you are putting unrealistic expectations on them, it is better for a team to have low expectations for themselves and surpass those expectations. a time trial could be faster than previous years for many different reasons and isn't an accurate representation of performances to come. maybe they are just more fit and more experienced with racing now? while last year they were building up that experience as the season progressed..
remember jesuit la? they were ranked higher than newbury park and probably actually thought they were better too. Finished 4th at Runninglane behind SW 5th team, CA 5th team. I am sure if they had a better day they would have been competitive with those teams up front at RL but they would most likely have not been competitive at NXN.
Remember all those teams at Woodbridge that placed top 8-9? I think 7 of them went to NXN because they were more modest and didn't think they were the best. It also helped that Tully-runners likes to underrate the results at that woodbridge. Arrogance leads to complacency which leads to lack of results. It is better to be ranked low and seen as the worse team, you will also have a chip on your shoulder to prove they are wrong.
For any coach out there who thinks their team is getting too complacent just because they return a bunch of sub 9:30 guys.
send your team out to Woodbridge to get wrecked. Oakdale got 22nd at Woodbridge, it taught them modesty and they came back to run 2nd at runninglane nationals.

They have Noah Manwaring coming in from Nj, he ran 9:20s as a soph

At Woodbridge, Oakdale was missing Alsaidi, who was their #1 at RunningLane
