Fair. Shelly Ann ran an outstanding turn 2 nights ago, she is very good at it. Not that she ran poorly tonight but Prandini ran spectacularly to barely lose ground.
USA put two collegians, a first year pro, and one vet (who's a great turn runner) on a team and beat a Jamaican team that had the top 3 from the 100 and includes the 2nd and 3rd fastest 100 women of all time and the 2nd fastest 200 woman of all time.
I think it was the competition amongst the Jamaicans that caused them to fail. You can tell that ETH and SAFP don’t get along well. I don’t think Jackson gets along with ETH either. Seems like SAFP and ETH ignore each other after each event. Probably made it harder to work together.
Prandini has to feel great. I am surprised and glad that the coaches figured out that she can run such a great turn. She earned a gold medal. I am also surprised that her non-qualification for the 200m wasn't more controversial. Prandini made it about her.
