It's OLD NEWS but it's the whole reason he got into Boston 2012. I'd heard that the Charlotte RD said that they'd received no formal complaints about Dr. Litton, and I don't believe that to be the case, as a participant claims to have exchanged emails with the Charlotte RD about Dr Litton but the Charlotte RD said that because Dr Litton had denied cheating and hit all of the timing mats, they didn't have enough evidence to DQ him.

I can't believe I've wasted any time on any of this, but at the same time I must admit the whole thing is intriguing.

GK, your presentation of the logistical difficulties of navigating Greater Boston in a car while trying to make all the 5k splits got me thinking, and so I looked at his 2009 and 2010 splits, which are here on this page of the thread:

I've broken them down additionally to showing 5k pace on either side of the 13.1 mile split:

2009:

_5k 0:20:07

10k 0:38:53 0:18:46

15k 0:58:53 0:20:00

20k 1:19:03 0:20:10

Half 1:23:47 0:21:34

Half to 25k_ 0:24:04 So I thought this was an interesting place to slow down so much. The course is really flat here.

25k 1:42:34 0:23:31

30k 2:01:36 0:19:02 The downhill at 15 miles should not make this split so much faster.

35k 2:20:49 0:19:13 Again the uphills should not be so fast.

40k 2:45:17 0:24:28 This is a believable split if you are dying.

fin. 2:54:55 0:21:57 This can also be believable because a lot of folks pick it up at the end, but does he fly through the finish line in the photos?

Looking in a little more detail, the split from 20k to 13.1 was 4:44 in '09, and 5:49 a year later. That's a huge discrepancy. Why should they differ so much from one year to the next? As you can see, the 2010 pace is as slow as a 26:30 5k! Whatever his M.O. something strange sure happens in Wellesley!

Is there a parking lot where he can store something he uses near that Wellesley area?

Do people tend to speed up near that section (close to Wellesley right?) because of all the screaming girls?

And Statistically speaking, how many other Boston marathon finishers slowed down as much as he did (percentage wise) during the 12mi to 13.1mi portion of the course?

He slows down so much at Wellesley because those girls can't enough of him and he can't get enough of them. The guy has just got a knack; something you losers know nothing about.

Typical LR. Too many people wanting to take credit for giving useless info. From Scotth, who really gives nothing new and merely states the obvious, to at least a half a dozen others. We all know that he cheated at the Crim, who cares what his contact claims that Dr. Litton said to him? He cheated as he cut the course short. Is that a revelation? The race director DQing him at a marathon, we all know that as well. Races that didn't exist, which appear to be more than one. Waiting for an article that is going to say what, he cheated? Scotth and several others really need to get a life as they are merely dying for the guy to tell them how he did it. The only ways possible have been mentioned, over and over. There are no other ways. He ran parts of it and parts of it he used some sort of transportation as in a bike, car or an accomplice. The hotel idea might be right as well, but who cares? Many runners have been caught cheating, he just allegedly did it over and over and over. You guys are making him out to be more than he is and watch him make money off of this with a little talk show tour. Wait for it.

So here we are 3000 posts later and nothing is new. Way too much over thinking on this thread. I don't get why some still insist is that difficult and complicated to cheat at a race. And people still love to go back to the sexier version where he had an accomplice. It has been pointed out At least a dozen times how he could have pulled all of this off, but people still want to believe something else.

Spot on. Scotth, whoever he is, is very condescending and has been throughout the entire thread. Scotth seems to really want to take credit for something that he didn't solve. Rich details? Unless KL can make himself invisible, what's the big mystery? As many have said, he cheated and there are only a few ways that he can do that (vaporization?).
