Some have been claiming that Israel won't negotiate with Hamas... well that is exactly what they are doing right now. Reports are that there will be a multi-day ceasefire with exchange of many hostages for 2-3x Palestinian prisoners. Pretending this wasn't going to happen is just stupid. There is a good chance that in the end Hamas will get most of the thousands of prisoners held by Israel in exchange for whatever hostages they haven't killed yet or haven't been blown up, starved or denied proper hospital care by the IDF. At some point we go back to square one with thousands of new Hamas recruits emerging from this mess.
