Another run across America underway - is it legit? Boots currently on the ground

Am I allowed to upvote this? Well I will. Thank you, means a lot, especially as I'm out of action currently. I always wondered what I could have done if I'd have been focused on speed, but talking to people and experiencing the real America was more important.

P.s. I love the place. The bulls*** and the bad stories you see on the news is the minority and the rest of the iceberg is kindness and hardworking people doing the country proud.

We generate completeness maps and leaderboards for people that want to run every street in a city. It shows you which streets you've run and which ones you haven't based on your Strava data. So you "ferret out" all the streets. Same for cycling.

The live tracker was a side project we did for Paul because he asked us to one night during our run club and we thought it would be a fun thing to build since we were already integrated with Strava.

I wouldn't trust a website with very little history, that is willing to be a complete shill for someone they barely know. Especially when they can't even calculate steps correctly.

Can you explain how you use Strava in the site's live tracking feature? You seem to be quite knowledgeable about Strava, does Paul also use the Beacon feature? I ask because you seem to claim to have access to raw data on a scale I was not aware was available LIVE through Strava. What is Paul's Garmin inreach mini tracking interval and how do you use and sort this information to display on the site?

You can download it all from Strava. Just replace the activity id with whatever run you want to view. As far as I can tell this is all his data sampled at 1 sec intervals.

Let me answer that. It's because you are not asking in good faith and have no intention of clearing PJ's name. You and the rest of the ultrarunners are acting as old gatekeepers who dislike anyone younger or more popular than them.

Can someone give me the TLDR on why Strava data = bad and Garmin data = good?

The troll videos definitely losing him respect and now the lets raise another $150k and I'll give you my garmin data. bad news his goal of 1 million raised going up in flames just like his WR attempt.

An observation:

He does every run with two watches, as we know. Both watches are recording, and both upload to his Garmin connect/Strava at the end of each run. He then picks one, seemingly at random, to leave up and removes the other from Strava.

Why doesn't he leave both activities uploaded? It would answer a lot of our questions - cadence dropouts, low HR, gps drift.

If he left both activities up, I would gladly steelman his case for legitimacy by taking the best data from each. If one shows zero cadence for 5 minutes but the other has a couple blips of spm during that time, it's clean. If one showed an abnormally low HR (a la Goodge) but the other was reasonable, we could rule out muling/microriding.

But the fact that he deletes one of the activities tells us 2 things. First, he has no interest in proving legitimacy because he goes out of his way to remove evidence. Second, since it is seemingly random which of the two he leaves up, we must conclude that it's deliberate. This just adds to the fishiness of the whole operation and needs to be resolved.

Camille uses Coros, so I'm not sure Garmin access will help.

She also posted that the run was too long for Strava's format, so it's not in yet (the length of the run exceeded their allowed maximum).

How is it a "straight troll reply" when it is absolutely true that none of you are asking in good faith and the only answer you will accept is to declare PJ "cheating"? The only one who should be given access to the Garmin files is me because I am the most neutral of any of you and the only one that has demonstrated technical competence to look at the data. There is no reason that Rob should be given access to the Garmin files when he has tons of bias in the matter and doesn't have the technical skills like I have to understand the data.

The fact that Paul is so unlikable he’s raised nowhere near his target and is resorting to blackmailing for the Garmin data is 100% sleeze. The man doesn’t have an ounce of authenticity.
