It depends. Heil Drimph is certainly free to tweet things. Even stupid and obnoxious things. But he cannot actually command or coerce the NFL owners to suspend or fire any players who take the knee or protest during the anthem. And the players are taking a risk. They can’t be prosecuted for their actions, but could get suspended or fired if the owner of the team or the NFL decides on a zero tolerance policy.
