Looks like some of the deletions are just where people quoted prior posts to bump up key info to not get buried, so just a matter of de-cluttering the thread.
Other deletions might just be all the Seth/Rowan bots trying to spam the thread with nonsense in order to distract from the key issues.
Looks like Rowan (nominally) competed this weekend. Just a few field athletes. They've got a javelin guy throwing 72.00m?
Geez. That is D1 for sure. I really have to question how they are getting and keeping some of these kids.
Obviously they're paying full price to go to Rowan. When you think of the best schools in America – or even the world – you think Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Rowan, and Stanford. Surely they're not getting some form of athletic aid disguised as something else.
Schools can't disguise aid. Rowan costs about $35K per year. Harvard is $100k.
You can't admit to taking a banned peptide and still be eligible to compete, but look where we are. Isn't the world a magical and sometimes confusing place?
Almost every athlete on Rowan's roster is from NJ. I'm sure most are getting a lot of money off because of in-state tuition and financial aid. This ends up being a cheaper option for most of their athletes who received athletic money from D2/smaller D1s that aren't state schools that have higher initial tuitions. Their success within the conference the last few years (prior to this debacle) has if anything strengthened their reputation for high-talent recruits within the state.
This could change now, though

Graduated too many years ago so who knows if it still applies: Some times the kids that were recruited onto the team were kids from in-state that were putting up decent marks on the track/field but were awful in class / bad grades that weren’t gonna get them anywhere else of note.
Other times they were able to offset a good portion of their tuition fees with student financial aid / FAFSA on top of the lower in-state costs that helped them afford Rowan.
In a perfect world it would have been nice to see some of my teammates performing at a stronger school academically and/or athletically but it doesn’t always work out for a variety of reasons.
We may soon lock this thread if it is just a few people posting back and forth to one another. Threads are not meant for 2 people to insult one another
