That was an incredibly weak first heat in that Women's 1500 - easy set up for Hiltz.

10.81. We can do this in our head if the previous poster was accurate. She ran ~9 m/s into -1.5 m/s, so airspeed was 10.5 m/s. Slowed her by 0.10 s said the post. With +1.5 m/s, airspeed is 7.5 m/s, or 71% of the actual case. Airspeed is 71%, so pressure and force are 0.71 squared, or 0.5. 50% of 0.10 s = 0.05 s.
10.71. Correction, W100m time with tailwind instead of no wind, would be faster by 0.05. Thanks for pointing out error.

Its going to take a 3:29 to make the team, probably a 3:28 to win it. It is so crazy deep. I wonder if Hocker or Yared take it out. Probably let Holt jump out for like 600-700m then take it on.
It's getting dangerous to lead with the strength of this field. There may not be somebody willing to "Ingebrigtsen it"
I agree they'll likely let somebody take it out for 600-800 before going the ElG route.

Strand is the only one who ran smart.
Interestingly, Martin had the fastest last lap across the heats.
Martin 54.22
Nuguse 54.26
Koech 54.84
Prakel 54.85
Strand 54.88
Waskom 54.89
Hocker 55.00
Green 55.15
Ciattei 55.25
Holt 55.27
Kessler 55.33
Houser 56.06
Wil has been amazing until he just couldn’t help himself with the theys and thems.

Martin ran in lane 2 quite a bit as well
They seemed quite boxed in though...

5/9 ain't bad. Shoulda trusted Koech, surprised at Martin over Murphy. Waskom/Green along with Houser scrape it in, UW guys sweep the lil qs there
Been saying it all season--just making that final is a major achievement.
I had Alvarado and Murphy instead of Holt and Waskom. Not bad!
Cook, Engels, Teffra, and Murphy out but all the other major players made it through. This is gonna be REALLY good!
No matter how it turns out, watching Eric Holt say "I'm Still Here!!" again is always fun.

Good stuff. Can even claim 10/11 given Alvarado pulled out for the 800m
Tara Davis-Woodall is up for her 3rd attempt. Two fouls so far, needs a legal jump

Leaps into first!
Nathan Green ran 3:32.20 last summer at the OTs so no it isn't an all dates collegiate record

Hilarious you think this is worth being fired over. The definition of living in your head rent-free

The entire field of US womens 1500 just feels empty with ESP.
Mackay is throwing down!
Happy MacArthur got through, bush league pass by Dani Jones
That Dani Jones early cut in pissed me off glad she tied up at the end
