Augsburg is wisely not racing him in a 10K the week after nationals. I’m hearing rumors he won’t race until they go to Bryan Clay. Supposedly Larsen wants him to defeat Bocovich and Kelly head to head to silence message board chatted about MIAC greatness and further establish his dominance over Power.
That would be a matchup for the ages. Maybe Wilkinson can hop in to lap them all.
No wouldn’t want to race them in a 1500 or a steeple, but none of them except his Silkiness could hang with Mo above a 3K. I don’t think he can even beat Mo in a 10K. Mo will assuredly run sub 29 this year.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him lap the a MIAC field in the 10K. There is simply nobody close to his level of talent and ability in the conference at this point.

Mo just wins. He doesn’t need fancy races or pacers. He should knock out his national qualifier at St. John’s next week and then run a 5K qualifier at Hamline and just hit a heavy training block with the Distance Elite guys.
Yes Bati is one of the best runners in MIAC history, but I'm not sure he can beat Bocovich in a 10K. Pretty sure he ran sub 13:50 and an altitude converted sub 29. Bati does have the potential to do that and an earlier Ramadan should help that this year. But saying he'll lap Bocovich is absurd. I do think he'd crush Will Kelly just like last year, but the Bocovich matchup would be pretty entertaining. I think Mo is learning to race better and think he'll get the MIAC 10K record which is soft in comparison to Wilkinson's 5K record.

Fact check - Mo qualified for the NCAA championship in a 5K at St. Olaf paced through 3K by the Gophers assistant. That was his first national championship. It is very rare in our sport to qualify for nationals solo. Wilkinson did do that several times because Ricks doesn’t believe in pacers.
Mo did beat Kelly in the MIAC 5000 after Power stupidly ran him in the steeple chase and 5000 within a few hours of each other. I think that was the only time Kelly lost to him on the track.
With that being said, Mo is a different animal this year and he should make a run at the MIAC record. 29:15 is absurdly fast though, so it will take a paced race and good conditions. To diminish MIAC All-time greats like the Oles is strange to me. You can praise Bati’s greatness and recognize their achievements too. As someone who ran when multiple MIACers were competing for and winning NCAA championships, we all got excited to see multiple teams and athletes have success at the National level. We didn’t want to Oles or Tommies to beat us, but we sure appreciated what they were capable of.
Let’s be real, both guys are training at altitude and getting far better coaching with better training partners. Mo has to do it alone while working full time and taking classes. Despite this, I don’t think it would be close. Mo is a much different racer than two years ago when Bocovich was an undergraduate.
Does the NCAA publish protests? It seems only fair to show that and publicly shame Power for his backhanded actions. And trying to pretend second team All-American is a thing only adds to it.
I just don’t understand the guy. Looks like they aren’t racing until the second week of April either. When will people realize the Oles deserve a better leader?
I actually am so sick of people talking about Power on these threads that I hope he gets a huge raise and knocks up all of you mothers.
Nobody cares. If you weren’t a bunch of whiny pathetic nobodies, you could actually call the administration and try to get it changed instead of posting here. So maybe toke those fancy Olaf degrees, get jobs and donate to the school and someone will care what you think.
Until then, leave the rest of us alone with your whining.
Can confirm emails from several alumni have been sent to the newly appointed AD and Trustees. We have shared the claims made against him on the MIAC threads and asked for transparency in budget under his oversight, questions regarding his recruiting and roster management, and plans to hire a more qualified coach with plans to use scientific training methodology. We have specifically mentioned lack of alumni connection and dismissal of team traditions. We are calling for his removal and a national search for the position that would also include alumni coaches with much more success and respect for the Big O.
Looks like incredible weather in Collegeville next week. Should be a great opener with a lot of MIAC teams competing. With Bethel off for the week, we’ll see a Johnnie take over of the TFRRs list. Particularly looking forward to the battle ot Kevin Arthur vs. the stud sprint freshman and Stencel, Tommy, and St. Peter facing off. Hearing many teams are hoping to squeeze in a 10K due to the nice weather. With the Oles being down due to what seem to be season ending injuries and graduation in the longer events, many teams will hope to sneak points in the 10K.

If he laps Lars and Skemp, he will likely run sub 29. Lars is a sub 30 guy and likely faster this year. Skemp has run 30:30 or so.
I’m not saying he can’t run sub 29, but if he shocked to see it at the famously slow MIAC championship race.
A Carl 800m runner not named Meier ran 49.70. Meier ran a 200 PR. The Carls could have a decent 4 x 400 by the end of the season if they get Lyness back. Or if they double Soren back.
Now here is the real question! Who are The Calvin and Lars of Northfield? Is Gabe and Roy? Or is it Sean and Olaf? Could it be someone else entirely? Perhaps its Ronen Silberman and Ben Seaten? Lmk your guy's thoughts
Sean and Olaf are more like the McKee and Edwards of west Northfield. Roy and Gabe are incredibly more accomplished, except they have a Captain America in Indy to their Iron Man & Thor.

Well for the Twin Cities metro, it's Grant Graber and Hootie Hage.
