Umm ... I think putting 3 runners in the top 8 of a World Champs is photo-worthy no matter what country you're from

loser.. They just ran their hardest at the World Championships! None of them were predicted to win or medal, so a strong finish is something to be proud of.

5th, 7th, and 8th is a very good effort in a World-level marathon. The USA is not at the Kenyan or Ethiopian level, so that performance is exciting for them.

That was an inspiring race on many levels. There was a lot of true joy at the end for the top finishers. Loved the reactions of the top 3, and of the American contingent. The shared experience and unique sort of pain for these women is unlike the track races and it shows at the end. Just loved watching Salpeter and Hall in the finish area. Very moving moments.

That was very entertaining. All 3 medalists absolutely deserved it.

Why are we so set on you can only be happy/ celebrated for getting a medal? Like being top 25, 20, 10 or 5 in the world isn’t an accomplishment to celebrate.

I don't think any other country will have 3 women finish.

Can you imagine three American men finishing 5,7,8 in the men's marathon? No. The women earned those finishes..

I didn’t see Kenya nor Ethiopia put 3 runners in the top 8. USA gets the team win!

US is showing very good depth in women’s distance right now. Not showing itself in a lot of medals yet, but the depth is very encouraging.
