His people were responsible for cancelling that Trump rally in Chicago. His admission is captured on video.

I think we may have seen peak Trump promise breaking this week - he broke so many core promises that I'm not sure he has any more to break.

This week we learned that

- there will be no physical wall

- we will not withdraw from NAFTA

- we will not withdraw from the Iran deal

I'm probably forgetting another broken major primise, but I'm sure trumpets could list them.

But seriously, his walking away from the wall is going to hurt him badly - that is the core trump brand. The base will hive off to some degree. Right wing media is already slamming him.
