Not really..............what Trump is doing is bringing things back to center (and hopefully a bit to the right of center), and it seems, he's actually looking to enforce EXISTING federal immigration law. I also don't know whats wrong with the deportation of illegals who commit crimes, or the elimination of federal funds from those cities that provide illegals with "sanctuary", and who refuse to work with ICE in violation of EXISTING federal law. The far left agenda implemented by the last 8 years of the Obama administration, quite a bit by which was done by executive action is the root cause of most of this. Whats good for the goose, is good for the gander or so the expression goes.

Yea, I mostly agree, but I meet a lot of liberals that don't have a clue about economics, fiscal policy, and good government management.

I think human nature drifts towards authoritarianism and appearance of "strong" leadership (which usually is a mask for fear and insecurity). Gray areas are too complex for many human minds, but black/white absolutes are much easier to comprehend. You made a good point about blind political affliations. Look at how many of us blindly follow top down religions. Look at the state of democracy around the world: Most of the world's population lives in non-Democratic states, the Economist Intelligence Unit just downgraded the level of democracy in the USA, and they estimate that only 5% of the world lives in a strong democracy.

In fact, the idea of strong, liberal, eglatarian, abundant democracies could be a 20th century blip on the radar in human history. We might as well get used to autocracy. Off-grid living also seems more appealing everyday.

Well, debating Trumps actions at this point don't really matter, nor will my "smartness" or lack thereof in your eyes. I really could care less. Because what the libs fear most.......border control, welfare reform, a positive business climate, tax cuts, law enforcement, a strong military, support of the 2nd Amendment, a strong conservative on the SCOTUS etc. is well on the way to becoming reality. Don't like it? Tough. Organize, mobilize, get out the vote in four years to make a change...............or don't.

clearly you are not aware that Obama deported more illegals than any other recent president, that illegal immigration has been dropping like a rock, and the number of illegals in the USA has been falling.

I am certainly aware, and in reality Billy Boy Clinton was the most strict in my recent memory. I had several INS audits of my I9's by his minions. BUT, my beef is with the cities/states that refuse to interact with ICE, particularly when crimes are committed by illegals. Don't like trumps policies? Organize, mobilize, get out the vote in 4 years. or don't.

The entire state department senior staff just quit (Leadership!), U.S. relations with Mexico are deteriorating quickly, Trump's press secretary just tweeted out his own password, and word is out that Trump has significant business interests in some of the countries (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan) he conspicuously left out of his "Terrorism Prone" Muslim Nation Ban.

This is all in less than 24 hours, folks, and Republicans in state legislatures are proposing laws across the nation to criminalize peaceful protests.

But hey, this is just something we need to work around if we want to keep trannies out of the wrong bathroom.

I'm starting to think there is. I've been reading interviews with his biographers and long time reporters that covered him, and they say none of this is surprising and expect more of the same. If you're interested, look up Mike D'Antonio, Tony Schwartz, and the podcast The Run Up with episodes The Trump Tapes.

I also read the transcript of the interview with ABC News this morning. Holy crap. I thought there was a method to his madness, but now I believe he might actually be psychologically unfit for office. Nothing we haven't seen already, but the ignorance, need for attention, the obsession is his own rankings and public perception, disdain for facts and understanding, sensitivity to any criticism were out there in plain sight in his own words.

Conservatives in Congress know that he won't look at the details of anything that comes across his desk and doesn't care about the outcomes. They will use him to sign off on stuff, rile up supporters, and intimidate the media as long as he is useful.

Are you imagining "things" that benefit Trump's voters? Right now, Trump's tirades against the country of Mexico is costing quite a few American farmers very serious trouble. The average homeowner just got a very bad deal with housing prices now set to decline. If Trump has his way with trade, many ordinary things are set to cost Americans much more.

Finally, how was Obama to get anything done with both houses of Congress opposing him? For example, Republicans refused to spend their way out of the depression at great personal expense to the average voter. Instead of a WPA-type program, we got Cash for Clunkers.

Trump still has to deal with Congress. That's going to be fun to watch.

I did see some things following November's unrest, but that was disruptive protest (blocking highways and such without a permit). Sources on peaceful protests?

I'm not sure how good a source this is, but this is what that poster was talking about.
