People find a leader they like and then tailor their views to agree with that leader. Normally it's fine because we have middle of the road presidents. It doesn't really matter if the prez is obama or mccain - they are about 10 yards apart on a football field. But Trump is not middle of the road - he is a baby autocrat who is out to destroy the norms that control American politics.
The urge to follow occurs on both sides of course, but conservatives in America are more delusional than moderates and liberals. they believe the darndest things.
What is clear is that the folks who elected him do not want a "middle of the road" President. They want someone who will actually do the things that were campaigned on. Whether you agree or disagree, things will get done.
well sure some people wanted a big change. I'd say most did not. Most trump voters are wealthy, educated and doing very well. They just hate liberals. they aren't looking for a revolution, they just really really hate liberals.
