I believe the RD was already suspicious when he asked one of my crew members if any team had passed us along the way. If i didn't mention earlier, i was the last person to checkin at the turn around in Darwin. So, the organizers new no one was behind me until I reached Lone Pine (mile 122).

Thomas. Thank you for sharing this. So PM finished in front of you somehow? Even though you passed her and she was behind you until you saw her crew vehicle head into town, never to be seen again...and she never returned either? Wow..... I wonder who else has information??

You ran one split as slow as 1.2 miles per hour which was nearly 7 hours to get to the top of Cerro Gordo. Most "runners" did it in 4-5 hours.

You must have eaten your Wheaties for breakfast because you "ran" an 8:49:00 in the section where Darren ran 11:52:00 and PM ran a 9:19:00.

You got to Darwin in over 33 hours. Wasn't that about 3 hours past the cut-off time? No DQ?

So, Darren's story sorta gets shot down since he didn't see anybody. And Darren says he's out of it. Then, Thomas, says Darren told him to post. They compared notes and so Thomas has a better story than Darren. But the problem is that PM appears to have been ahead of Thomas even though Thomas was running questionably fast. If PM was in front of Thomas =when he looked back then maybe he looked in the wrong direction. But somebody said she hitched a ride and took a detour. Blah blah blah...

A bunch of losers who paid $1000 running around the desert for 2 days arguing about who came in last. Heck, they all beat Oswaldo who dropped early and Dean who didn't show up.

Before you ask, I had my ass on the couch drinking whiskey and missing all the fun.

Why defend an obvious cheater in PM? What motivation would other runners who don't even know her have in making up lies about her cheating?

Did anyone "see" PM at Badwater? A lot of people didn't see her. We need to check marathon race results that weekend to see how many marathons she and Larry finished while running Badwater.

Honestly, the heat and GI issues really took its toll on me. The blisters were a killer too. I have a picture of surgery being performed on one my shoes to relieve some pressure. lol

But yes, the trek from lone pine to the summit of Cerro Gordo was painful and very long. Many short naps and one long one at the summit was a big help.

That's how PM caught up to me.

as far as the split from Darwin to lone pine, here's how i did it.

i looked at my watch and i said to myself, F@#CK!!! I have less than 15hrs to cover 44 miles. I got up and told my crew, we're running and i'm not stopping. so, that's what we did. I had no more GI issues, the team was constantly keeping me cool, messages from my supporters on FB were being shouted out, and cars passing by giving me a thumbs just motivated me to do what i love best. So, if anyone thinks i cheated, then i'm sorry to dissappoint them.

WAY TO GO THOMAS!!! Character and integrity ALWAYS wins out in my book! That is what is so great about this country...tell truth, tell what you know, and not let anyone get away with cheating. It disrespects race director and all honest runners. The real runners shouldn't have to put up with a fake.

Yup. Darren and Thomas decided to randomly make a claim on someone they both don't know. Whatever. Next? What might be next is a few others yet to come forward with the truth. More popcorn. Thomas thank you for sharing your observations. There is no reason for anyone to bash you....unless they have something to hide. Congrats on your finish!!

I'm going to believe Darren and Thomas, who both competed in the event and have nothing to gain, before I give PM the benefit of any doubt just based on a character reference post from Steve Holehan and a second bizarre one.
