I just watched the Falmouth Road Race elite mile and these guys are studs, running 3:53 for the mile. Jacob just basically ran their pace for almost double the distance! Just shows you what a big jump in talent the Diamond League is and how good you have to be in order to just get a lane. Jacob then absolutely destroyed everyone in the field and took down a record I never thought would be broken. He is in a class by himself and will most likely be the best runner to ever walk the earth by the end of his career.
If you thought 7:17 was impressive, wait till he gets the 5k and 10k ones sir!!!!!
Don't underestimate the power of supershoes, nanotechnology track surfaces and a sub-maximal endurance genius. Jakob is running 12:23 and 25:30 for the 5k and 10k respectively but there is a caveat!!!
He needs to run the 12:23 by this season, and the 10k one by next season. There will be no delays and if he delays he will not get it.

Haven’t seen the race yet, but Komen’s solo effort without Wavelight is, to me, more impressive.
The question is: where do things go from here? We had Bolt and then Blake was on track, but got derailed. To maintain drama, he needs some serious comp.
Who will it be? Will they be better than he is? Are they already on the track? Is this as 9.69 was to 9.58–i.e. will we see him go even faster, fairly soon? Will he totally put it away, for a looong time?
Yeah and what about the other records? Which is the biggest? 1500m?
Is this a joke? He just got rolled by 3 different guys in the race he most wants to win. He has plenty of competition. We said it before the Olympics - he could ahve set the 1500m WR in Monaco and I'd still have serious doubts as to whether he'd win the Olympic 1500 title.
This is more of the same. Despite being in this amazing shape, he still got rolled by Hocker, Kerr and Nuguse in Paris.
Well anyone with my good head on their shoulders would know why Jakob, a clean athlete, could have gotten beat by at least 2 of those 3 you mentioned!!!!!! It had to illegal, that's all me and Armstrong is subjectively trying to say.
The "better championship racer" Kerr has won a grand total of 3 gold medals in his career, one being European junior championships and one being indoor, while the "choker, can only run time trial paced races" Jakob is unbeaten in finals since 2019 in his favorite event and has never finished worse than 4th in the 1500 in his worse event.
I like that Ingebrigtsen is no faster than Tom Courtney was over 800 in the '50's yet can put two 1500's together at the same speed as Elliott and Snell ran one in the '60's. Powerful stuff!
I also like that Ingebrigtsen is a better runner than Elliot and Snell. Cant you make a post on how Kipchoge can't beat the 100m WR from the 30's yet somehow can string together 5000 records from the 40's or something like that? Powerful stuff!
Keep repeating that to see if you can take the edge off your misery. 7:17.55, read and weep.
Ingebrigtsen is no faster than a good school boy over the 800. That makes him comparably the slowest 1500/3k champion/record-holder in the history of the sport. Let's hear it for modern pharmaceuticals!
His 800m PR is from the same age as when you are a school boy, so that is fitting!
His 100m PR is even worse, likely worse than any 100m of his 1500. CRAZY STUFF.
Anyways, sorry for your loss, I see that you are coping as much as you can.

Timing is everything sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not at all. He will probably not even run a 10k next year. I doubt he has any interest in that event right now.
Also, he will run a great 5000m next year. Bank on it.

cuz Jakob does more threshold than Courtney did. Yes, LT work is powerful stuff. In fact I hear spending lots of time developing it lets you hold fast paces for longer
1. When did JI run a 800 meter in good weather last? It's just a clutching at straws argument.
2. Most of the year he runs more than 100mps, more like 115-130.
3. These milers of the past did not measure their lactate X amount of times every day to optimize their training effort.
4. They didn't have super-shoes
5. They didn't have wave length pacing.
6. How many of these former super athletes followed a professional training regime before hey were teenaagers?
By all means, feel free to think he is doped to the gills and argue your case as much as you wish, but let's not pretend JI haven't had a set of advantages in his training regime that pretty much no prior before him has had.
I find it interesting that runners copying his training methods are crushing it and I think by copying his traning methods, a new runner will emerge sooner than most people think to surpass his times.
Maybe Laros?
He has all those advantages you describe and yet he is no faster than a schoolboy over the 800.
See point number 1 in my original response.
Oh, I forgot of course they use bicarbs these days as well, they didn't as far as I am aware in the EPO era.
I guess the whole discussion boils down to: can better training, recovery, tehnology and wave lights and legal supplements (bicarbs) increase performance more than EPO?
I am in the yes, yes it can camp, you are obviously not. That's fine.
On behalf of your blood pressure I am glad that he didn't run in more optimal conditions yesterday, as I bet he can run 2-3 seconds faster..
A runner who has never beaten 1:46 for the 800 puts two 1500's together at the pace of the great milers of the past, who trained just as hard - 100mpw - and were faster than him over 800. This sport is farcical.
A runner from Morocco had never beaten 1:47.18, but put an 800m and a 700m together at sub-1:50.00 pace. Your reasoning is farcical.
Bla bla bla, hey bruh Daniel Komen's 3000m WR was the weakest in the book, you feeling me sir????????
Double 3:40 1500m is easy wheezy on supershoes and fake track surfaces with the right biomechanical output frequency you feeling me sir??????? Jakob has the stride frequency compatibility for the 3000m, 5000m and 10000m, but he cannot rule the 1500m I'm sorry!!!!! So sorry man.......
Jakob ran double 3:39 and for a guy who has run 3:26, 3:39 is real easy jog you feeling me????
Josh Kerr is around the ballpark of 7:17 for sure as well, only question is whether he wants it hard enough. He is right with Jakob, Josh Kerr has even better biomechanical output than Jakob!!!! But not Hockerdope, he was a shadow of his former self at Lausanne and that's because all the American studs simply wean off the dope now that the Olympics are sewn up, you feeling me sir?????
And that's how you see the American studs running like sh*t at diamond league races. Not sure if they are reading this and get pissed off and start doping up for Zurich and Brussels to prove me wrong??????? Well see...............
So what are your predictions for Zurich (between Jakob and Josh)..?
Yes. Just better training over time, DT works. The Boy has been a prodigy all his life, every result since 11yo is extreme.
Yet only a few weeks ago he loses an Olympic final to three other runners who had none of that background, despite running the race as fast as he could. He also has made a habit of losing WC 1500 finals in recent years, as well as DL races to Kerr. Being a child prodigy isn't what proves exceptional talent in adulthood, as none of those who beat over 1500 were age-group record holders. His main talent is his level of doping, which began years ago.
I mean how obtuse can a person be? Drugs should have enabled Jakob to recover that unnecessary surge on the first lap. He didn't, and couldn't. Which DL races has he lost to Kerr? I count one, Prefontaine this season, in his build up following injury.
