Had a good chuckle looking at 3200 times. We’re probably sitting on a record number of sub 9:20 3200 times with 11 different guys.
But no one has gone sub 9:20 in Idaho yet. I’m sure some of them could have, especially the CDA boys at low elevation and Heemeyer wherever, but it’s interesting that most of them haven’t even tried hard in Idaho. We’ve become a travel to the coast to run fast state.
Yesterday in Eugene I got a mild sunburn in 75-degree weather with no wind. Two weeks ago in Idaho I was wearing multiple jackets and praying the wind wouldn’t blow me and my umbrella into outer space like a frozen Mary Poppins.
I wouldn’t say the kids aren’t trying hard in local races- instead I would say Idaho is a challenging place to run for a variety of reasons.
