Maybe because it has become so brazen and almost Houlihanesque that it now impossible to ignore. If said athlete is going to be this seemingly in everyone's face about it while running suspect times, it becomes impossible not to discuss.
To be Houlhanesque, you need a positive drug test. That was a big part of her downfall, right?
Can you elaborate on her training methods? What is novel about the system used at Huntington U. or, possibly, by the Johnsons?
(Serious question - please no snarks about injections, massages, carnal references, etc.)
I mean how many other distance runners get to be coached by a jumps coach!?
I'm sorry I know you said no snark, but I have a feeling the comment you responded to was all snark anyway. And I know, I know, HU did finally get around to hiring a distance coach; I’m sure he’s the one behind all her training now 🙄
It's interesting to see how LRC and its owners handle this. I think most would agree that the way AW and her identity was "protected" by local police was beyond terrible. Then Woods and LRC latch on to the salacious story. Of course, LRC purports "free speech", but AW's involvement and police interview should NEVER have seen the light of day. Then, AW gets extremely fast. Then, completely obsessed forum posters can not help themselves from demeaning with little proof. With the current social thought around online-bullying and sexploitation, AW could go after the Huntington PD, Woods, and LRC. Most juries would find that AW had a reasonable expectation to privacy in regards to her police interview and its contents. She is getting very near to being able to prove that she has been damaged financially, etc by the PD negligence and others seizing on that.
I have the feeling that astro is fighting an online battle with a half dozen people located in Indiana with multiple user names. Those same people are also reporting nearly every post that is critical of Wiley, the Johnsons, or Huntington U. What I do find strange is that astro can post multiple times throughout any Wiley threads but anyone else offering less than enthusiastic support for Wiley is quickly deleted.
It's really only 1 or 2 people in Indiana using a VPN. That is also the reason for all the upvotes on pro-Addy comments. If you watch these threads, there will be 20 or 30 upvotes on some of those comments within just a few minutes of them being posted. A normal thread takes much longer (usually days) to accumulate that many comment votes.

Lol. This is just... not accurate. You have no idea what you are talking about.
She can't go after Woods. The article was vetted through Indystar legal before publication and there is a lot he did not publish.
While Astro rages on, Addy Wiley is probably finishing a late lunch at some fancy European restaurant that was paid for by a mega agent who is hoping to work with her for the rest of her running career. Soon she will head out for a run in a beautiful place and mull over her offers of where she should race next. Before meeting yet another mega agent for dinner to talk about shoe contract options. All in all, I bet she is having a great day.
I gotta say, if I had the choice I would much rather be Addy Wiley right now than Astro. We know his Mom’s basement has a strong musty smell, and that his commentary is strongly influenced by the asbestos dust he breathes in every time he hyperventilates over Addy Wiley race results. Astro, you should really have a specialist look into that asbestos. For both your health and your mothers.
So it pays to dope? Great message to our youth, pal. If you can’t see it with mountain of evidence, then there’s no helping you. Enjoy your ignorance.

I've watched these threads and never seen that before, you sound like a QAnon cultist

Rojo talked about the tech issues on his podcast. Someone was making a concerted effort to spam the Wiley threads and get posts removed. Its obvious on any thread
Nuts how any post about her victim shaming gets deleted. All I’m saying is I could root for her if she wasn’t at Huntington and didn’t blame the victims of Nick’s deviant behavior.
No. It was evident that Houlihan was doping based on her times and progression years before she was finally caught. The positive test was just the final confirmation. A positive antidoping test is the exception. Most dopers will not test positive, and the athletes that constantly cite that they never failed a test know this. Cases like Houlihan or more recently Chemusto are rare, but they serve as a helpful point of reference in determining whether the suspicions were well-founded. In lieu of a positive test you have to look at other things. And that would include affiliations, whistleblowers, times, etc. That a clean record breaking athlete magically emerges from the midst of a doping scandal is too laughable to seriously entertain.
If a thread about an athlete devolves into a protracted debate about whether an athlete is doping or not the debate is effectively over. Aside from diehard fans, trust that the athlete is clean has gone.
