I would think it goes out in 50hi/51low with Arop and Moula up front suspect that 500-600 segment is gonna start a furious battle with those two and Wanyonyi attacking and Sedjati in tow. Should be a great last 200 and I agree probably 1:43low-mid with Ben/Hoppel maybe coming late.
Men’s 800 is one of the least exciting events this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it won in 1:43 high, 1:44 low and Hoppel could finish anywhere from silver to last. I think Arop will probably win however the 1500 was the mid-distance race of the championships.
How are the long jump numbers today still so far away from Beaman's 8.90 from 1968??? All the fancy shoes, better nutrition, bouncier tracks (and drugs) and yet we're still half a metre off a 50+ year old Olympic record?
Yeah I know Powell beat it in 1992 but he's the only one to do it.

Hold every long jump championship at 7,000 ft and they’d be closer.

I think the Paris race was pretty good. There’s no real superstar, but it’s very competitive.
