This will start the floodgates... I can see every runner needing a fake name going as the kipster.

Kip has entered the Dewberry Race for the Jones 10k in Cleveland February 4th.

FYI kip Litton is NOT really registered at BOSTON Terrier invite in the mile. I registered and seeded him in the mile as a joke. However, Kip REALLY is registered at Boston marathon 2012, as who in their right mind would pay 300bucks to put him in the entrants list.

If Kip's problem of continuously getting DQ over and over likely falls into the a Mental illness DSM category , should we be trashing him this much? I mean what Kip did was actually funny as hell at first, but at some point we as serious runners ought to not take offense to his behavior but probably sympathize that there's some serious stuff that was probably going on in his life in 2009-2010 that led him to do this crazy shit,just guessing. Sometimes life circumstances drive people to do things way out of the ordinary. Usually such circumstances wouldnt drive most of us as far over the edge, but you never know.

I'd like to think that if Kip felt he had a claim for defamation / libel, he would have filed it about eleven months ago when this thread really took off and gained traction. Instead it's been nothing but radio silence on his end.

Don't those things take time to take off though? I wouldn't be so sure. Most of the evidence came to light a year ago, but he may still be getting his lawyers in place.

I still think we have a moral responsibility to make potential clients aware of his behavior. Would you want to go to a mentally ill dentist? Hasn't anyone seen Marathon Man?

His wife is an attorney, so I presume it would be very easy for him to tell her the situation and come up with a plan on how to respond. The fact that he's not filed a lawsuit, responded to reasonable requests for clarification and has otherwise gone into hiding suggests that he hopes this will eventually go away. I think it also infers that he absolutely does not want his wife to know about this situation, though if I had to guess, I'd say she's already been tipped off.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: if Kip was legit, he would have immediately moved to have this thread shut down, and he would have been incredibly aggressive in going after individual posters. You'd think that as a business owner he'd be concerned about his reputation and would do anything to make certain it remained unblemished. Kip knows however that by filing a lawsuit for defamation / libel, everything becomes fair game, he will have to respond to the assertions made in this thread, and on other sites. He's got nothing, and if he did, you would have heard about it by now. As an attorney, I can tell you it doesn't take eleven months to draft a complaint and get something filed in court.

Kip's biggest mistake was ignoring the accusations and offering ridiculous excuses as to how he wasn't photographed, ran under fake names, changed outfits, started dead last, and participated in bogus races. Kip should have immediately owned up to his actions, admitted responsibility and state that cutting courses and making up fictitious marathons is bad form. He also needed to put to rest any suspicion that he misappropriated charity donations made to his website. He gets a big fat F in Public Relations 101.

Why do you guys make of the author backing off allegations of cheating, while accusing Kip of cheating...lol...

not only that, but that author linked from his article directly to pictures at the Study klitton blog showing Kip in black sweatsuit at Boston. Also commented on BayShore at SOKLR blog that if kip gets DQed he moves up a place( the author ran that race and believes he got KIPPED at BayShore 2009).

Writers need to show some balls and call kip out for cheating.

Either way, the guy probably has some kind of mental issue going on. It was funny as hell to see it unfold, but hopefully he can admit it, we can move on

Thats funny - I often read this thread on my iPhone whilst taking a dump

Has anyone in Michigan managed to spot Kip and ask him in a nice way what went on at the time and the whys?
