Jaguar1, were you wearing the pinkish red H-Streets on Sunday? I think we saw you out there. Congratulations on the new PR.
I've come to find myself most comfortable when I run in my H-Streets. When I first got them (even though I'd been training in flats) I found them a little awkward, particularly when running down paved hills. This has changed over time, probably both due to running in more minimal shoes (such as the H-Street) and running more barefoot.
My biggest problem with the H-Street is the outsole. To begin with, it's lack of texture makes it a very slippery shoe. If there is a hint of moisture on the track I find myself sliding an annoying amount with each stride. Second, the rubber compound they use seems to wear down very quickly. After less than a hunderd miles each pair I've used has already been worn to perfect smoothness under the ball of my foot. It's fine for dry days, but it can get downright dangerous on wet downhills.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for something that is similar to the H-Street in terms of flat/low to ground, supple upper, etc. My achilles tendon really appreciates the lack of a stiff heel counter too.
