fool
he was referring to the "superior-ness" of the 43.71 BEFORE the 43.50.
moron
learn to read what i wrote
The 43.50 was better than the slightly eased up 43.71
Certainly no chance that 43.71 was going to be better than 43.29

go fetch the RTs
Certainly no chance that 43.71 was going to be better than 43.29
clearly an idiot with no grasp of energy expenditure
think about 20.7 v 21.2 & then fetch RTs & then think some more
on the RT expending energy scale, which goes to 11 by the way.
Q. Watts = 9
M. Johnson = 8
Ventolin^3 = 1
therfore,
q. watts > mj > ventolin

that I was thinking as well, and that is why we'd all like to see wariner try 600m, if not 800m.
in my experience, running a race easy one day allows an athlete to run faster the next day. in fact, i'd say this is one of the requirements for saying a race was "easy" if in fact, this first race was not easy, as evidenced by the slower time the next day, then some of your assumptions are off.
even if you doubt this, you have to at least admit the possibility that it is true, which would mean you shouldn't be calling people morons for disagreeing with you.

have you actually tried to run a 400m off of 200m training?
Absolutely slaughtered Black and Everitt!
Heavens knows what he would have achieved if he'd stayed in the sport for a few more years. 43:71 easing up! It's frightening to think what he would have been capable of.
I say QW 43.18 before MJ ran 43.18.
I still love to point out that nobody here knows how gassed Watts was at the end of the race for him to "ease" up.
I wish I could see more of this. Can't hide my awe for the two most prolific posters to the thread, you've done a great, scintillating job, hat off! Please, don't let this thread die.
The only reason this thread continues is people are too stupid to realize that they will say over and over Wanjiru is the greatest marathoner and his Beijing performance is the GREATEST Marathon ever (even though it was slower), but get mad about the claim in this thread. Ventolin can't say the same thing about this 400?
Learn how to not be hypocritical
Why don't we just get Q Watts to tell us and that will end this debate

Incidentally have you ever read the book 'We'?
No answer.
Ventolin you really are a philistine
I say he died the last 20m

Its just wentolin calling himself a moron under a different name because nobody else cared to point out that QWatts died after going out too hard in a 400

Just like Bolt died in the Beijing 100m? Why don't you get that it's the same thing?

f***ing ignorant moron
you can't even do basic science
an imbecile who thinks 60/60/60/50 flattened out is only worth 3'47.2 has no clue about science or the sport
you piss-ant are wasting my time
This Jennifer Cruz was quite good at provoking Ventolin, although it was not challenging to get him worked up.
