The article was initially entiteld, "Zane Robertston!!!!" but we changed it to make it more descriptive. Here is our article on his bust and fake excuses (he said he went to a hospital for a COvid-19 vaccine but they gave him EPO instead) which points out that in 2016 he expressed frutation at the amount of doping in the sport:
Jeez....This is better than the testosterone burrito.
You have to give him credit for the work that went into forging documents, etc. Houlihan just came up with a totally implausible story and expected people to believe it because she "wasn't that type of person".
Of course they (both of them) have used ped (prolly epo) in the past, maybe since they were in their early 20s. You are a fool to believe anything else knowing what we know about doping in Kenya n Ethiopia. And before anyone draws the rascist card, My father was born in Kenya so dont damn me.

+1
Houlihan just talked some friends into testifying that she might have eaten a pork stomach burrito. No proof whatsover added, other than a receipt for a beef burrito.
No wonder almost no-one fell for it, certainly not AIU + WA + WADA + CAS.
Zane on the other is a terribly stupid forger with many obvious mistakes in his "documents", a far cry from a master criminal.
Does anyone have a screenshot of the Sara Hall deleted tweet?
I don't but she said that doping should be criminalized in Kenya, so that would deter "Kenyan doctors" from doping. It was a stupid thing to say. She replaced it with criminalize doping everywhere.
it's bizarre to see so many pros speak up about this, when they were quiet when Shelby was caught. Like when an athlete who trains in Kenya gets caught, they jump on the bandwagon but an American gets caught its...crickets.

Where you are is no excuse for doping. People are absurd with this. If it is pushed on you by a state-sponsored program or doping-obsessed coach like Jama Aden that is one thing. Robertson had none of that - he is a grown man who decided to cheat and lie about it. It’s strange how you could laugh at his absurd explanation but then say things like “how could he not dope he was in Kenya?” in the same breath. Absurd -he could put his head down and train. Not hard at all.

With these mid to late career doping busts (late 20's and above), my mind goes one of two ways:
1) These athletes have been pushing the limits or doping for the entire extent of their careers and finally get caught
or
2) After a number of promising years, pro runners bodies/performances are not matching the expectations of the athlete, and so doping is implemented as a "last resort." Their inexperience with such things gets them nailed almost immediately.
I tend to drift towards conclusion number two.
The problem with the 2) is that so many dopers get caught earlier, and so many never get caught.
I am going with 1, more specifically either
1a) ... finally got caught because many slip up sooner or later
or
1b) ... finally got caught because they pushed the envelop more and more (if 30 IU/kg are safe, why not try 35 and so on)
Yeah Sara Hall stepped in it and had to delete a tweet. She somehow believed there was a chance in heck that Zane’s absurd story was true. I’m just going to tune out ArmstrongLivs and Coevett on this one. Jumping through hoops to make a story about Zane Robertson and his integrity-free actions about Kenyans. This is about a hypocrite who cast stones and was so remorseless he made up that preposterous story. I don’t really buy Rojos line on this one that he turned cynical or whatever. He probably just got hurt and old. It seems like he’s been disliked for a while, and he was plenty good enough to live a happy life as a 60 minute/2:09 westerner in Kenya/NZ IF you believe he hasn’t doped for years. Instead, he probably wanted more, upped his doping, and justified it in his mind to make more money and what everyone does.
100%
He's not some poor cynical victim. There's no evidence to suggest this. The second some of you see a dark skinned person involved you jump to blame them. It was his choice. he chose to dope, he chose to remain in East Africa, he chose to be a menace to the community and a bully to all, he chose it he chose it he chose it. His fault. His responsibility.
I would've downvoted you, but you're kind of right when Saruni got caught I knew Kenya had a very big problem. He really got caught a couple years out of college, how long was he taking it for who knows.

He refused a test. The anti-doping authorities in Kenya in tandem with USADA likely targeted him and he knew he was caught red-handed. His performance in 2022 was subpar and it’s fair to assume he was going to be dropped by Nike. He was probably out of the AIU pool and took a chance not thinking someone would test him in Kenya.

Yeah, I didn't think Sara Hall meant she believed his COVID vaccine story. I think she just meant that runners get PEDs prescribed by doctors at their request.
Robertson's bust will be a disappointment to some in New Zealand - although not to many, as he is little known outside his sport. The sport that matters most to New Zealanders is rugby, where evidence suggests doping is a problem, although no national representative (All Black) has yet been busted.
However Robertson's bust is also simply part of the litany of doping violations that are coming out of Kenya - which New Zealand has no equivalent to. By living, training and doping in Kenya he shows that he is part of their doping problem.
Pure deflection. Bringing up rugby???? That has nothing to do with the subject, zero!
If Rupp had went across the pond with Mo to train year ago versus Mo coming to the states, and Rupp was 100% caught doping, you wouldn't blame the problem on Great Britain, you'd be ripping Rupp as an American and that Americans are dopers.
And then Armstronglivs would add that all white Americans are racist.

He probably just asked ChatGPT to generate the forged documents for him because AI is good at making BS up that doesn't match reality. How else do you explain an excuse of getting EPO when going for covid?
