"Won't sending weapons to the Ukrainians prolong their suffering?" The only way this question makes sense is if you're operating under the assumption that Russia ultimately has good intentions towards the Ukrainians. The authoritarian fairy tale goes: If there were no weapons for the resistance, Russia would end things quickly, install a Putin-controlled puppet regime, and everyone would live peacefully ever after, with a world order in balance. Of course, in fact, Russia is bombing civilian targets. Russia has shown no regard for the people of Ukraine or even its own soldiers. Millions of people have fled the country and Russia intends to keep it subservient by force while its oligarchy sucks it dry. Abandoning Ukraine would leave them stranded in the vice-grip of delusional, violent psychopath. It would avoid prolonged suffering by offering a swift death instead. A huge part of world is currently taking a stand against authoritarianism and Tucker wants the US to sit down.
