Gotta love the boomers...... "back in my day we had to walk to school 10 miles in the snow uphill both ways". If Hutchins had run 15:58 or something similar on a track you all would be hating as well, get over it!

Do you think Hutchins' should have run closer to Blaha's time, what with nearly equal 3200m times?

Her time seems very comparable with Boe, as does her 3200m. I wonder why Blaha was 20 seconds faster than Boe?

She ran the identical time of 15:58 just like I said. Those two boys ran 15:58 at the meet. The other information are their credentials. So Blaha was able to run 15:36 at another course but only 15:58 here. So, yes, she is capable of 15:36 on a faster course if that is your point.

I wondered why the same 3200m times didn't result in the same 5K time on this course, but you showed that it did because Blaha ran 15:58.

Course was wheel measured this past Saturday morning and it was in fact 37 meters short (16281 feet). That should be about 8-10 seconds for the faster runners. A second measurement will be done this week and it’s expected to be even shorter bc tangents were not used for the first measure.

It measured about 10 meters short walking 1 foot from the lines which is probably closer than it can be run. Hundreds of GPS watches averaged about 3.15 miles. But you can try to throw this falsehood out there again to get the thread started up. When she runs 9:29 on the track, this silliness will be behind us. This 15:58 record will stand for a long time.

Well I measured it and it was 16,409.753 feet. See how that works?

But what should the procedure be? Should every course be measured and be an exact measurement before saying your PR counts, keeping in mind there’s no official way to certify a cross country course?

Course measured was video taped too. Marks one and two were about 90’ short.

Lies? Her GPS registered longer than 3.1 as did nearly every single runner in the race. What proof do you want? You want to see me walk the course with the wheel? The course was professionally designed. They spent more money than you will earn in your entire life. And you think anyone cares that 3 or 4 people on Letsrun are grouchy that Hutchins is faster than Tuohy? It is in the books. She is the fastest runner in history. This meet will overtake NXN and Footlocker. This course will host many high school meets and NCAA meets.

I will go along with 9:29. There were several guys who finished around her who have run 9:40 2 years ago in the 3200 which indicates they will run sub 9:20 this year. It only makes sense that if she can run a 5k with a 9:20 type guy, she can run 9:29.

Are you an engineer, as Huntsville is known for, or a runner, or both?

Because your logic as to how she will achieve 9:29 is faulty, so I would suggest you might be assuming what you are trying to prove.

You left out the part about whether Bobby Luna was the best athlete from Huntsville HS.

Men progress differently than women because of physical differences. This is an axiom.

As far as proving this on the track she will be running a 5K on Friday.

I expect she will be around 10 seconds faster. Maybe more.

That is correct. I mentioned only progression of boys, not girls. Clearly the 2 boys who ran 15:58 in the race who have 9:4x PRs fron two years ago would be expected to run 9:20 today if not faster. Once you settle on what type of 3200 shape they are in, then merely apply it to Hutchins today. Worst case, I would assume that those 2 guys would run 9:25 today so why would anyone not think she is capable of 9:29?
