In order to register for or be on the wait list for Zoom Yah Yah indoor marathon, persons have to write out a check to the race director. If they are accepted, he dates it and deposits it.

Kip had to have sent in a check to do that.

According to a business website the estimated income for kip littons dental business is greater than a few hundred thou but less than 500k with 1-4 employees so maybe he takes half that and pays for his assistants and drilling equipment and gassing tools. I am just guessing though. Then he can use some of the rest for race entry fees and travel.... not sure if the wife was involved but someone earlier who said they know kip personally said she helped kip at the start and finish so cannot rule anything out. We don't know if the wife was in on it or if she believed in kips amazing running feats and found out afterward from the Internet buZz and now is mad at kip. One letsrun poster said earlier that she "back on the market" and that kip moved to Holly Michigan to avoid contact but I think that BS

Because the health insurance system in the US is so terrible, i could imagine the health insurance companies will want to drop kip's sick kid from a plan because of preexisting condition. I don't know if this provides an incentive to do what he's doing or if it's just to work toward a CF cure. Someone said he has another sick kid too but they think that's not true.

Perhaps you should contact the race director to see if the check sent in was from Kips's account or had someone else's name on it.

Just curious, has the writer of the long anticipated, much discussed, article for a publication with a circulation of over a million, even attempted to make contact with Kip Litton's wife?

You'd think if he was serious about said article that would be the second person he'd call.

There is no article. There are more than a few people who thought the story worthy of an article, but no one who is actively researching with a plan to submit for publication. Do not believe anyone to tells you to the contrary.

I'm pretty sure kip has hired someone to improve his Internet reputation. When you try googling him now, you get a lot more hits of his dental resume and less about the running. Looks like he set up a bunch of tumblr/blog type websites with good things about him to help clean up his reputation. When you google kip Litton now, you can see what I mean

Even googling "Kip Litton dentist" gets 3 of the above in the top 5 results.

"Kip Litton dds" only gets the Bill Kahn article, but I wouldn't expect "DDS" to get many negative hits, nor would I expect many people to use that exact search.

Anyway, looks like he's getting ripped off if he's hired somebody to clean up his rep.

What did Dick say about "Kip's" check? I assume that no one actually talked with him or they did and found out that it is not Kip's name on the check.

Have you actually spoken to the BAA, last I heard his entry was under review till then end of the year. Give them a call, or heck I will on Monday.

Dick won't answer specific questions about Kip because he knows that he is innocent and likes him. But if you ask for a complete list of competitors Kip's name will be there, or if you ask if all the wait listed runners got in, he will say yes.

I just googled Kip and his reputation is far from cleaned up. In fact, I cannot believe how anyone doing the most cursory search on a prospective dentist for their children would choose Kip.

Of course, with Kip planning a return this thread does have new life.
