Potentially Suspicious Runner To Run 836 Miles in 9 Days for "Charity"

It is with tears in my eyes that I write this post. And confess once and for all, that yes, I have been cheating all this time. That 37:48:00 100 miler at Superior Trail 100. the one where i barely made the last cutoff, the over 6 hour marathons, all of it, lies and cheating. If you check my Strava account (https://www.strava.com/athletes/3399449) you will see that I've gone so far as to attach my watch to a slow moving and obese man to steal his data and make it look like I have barely finished races all over the county. It doesn't end there. My last hour finishes at Comrades were BOTH faked....which makes me an INTERNATIONAL CHEATER.

While my watch was finishing the Tuscobia 160 and Arrowhead 135 (approximately 24 hours behind the winner) I was really sitting somewhere warm, drinking hot cocoa and laughing at how dumb all of you are for believing me.

***Special Note: with the exception of a annual turkey trot my cheating is almost never to support any charity. I do it because I am narcissist only.

But wait. There's more. I talk about my cheating on my podcast "Ten Junk Miles" which means this cheating cartel is involved in interstate commerce!!! So the feds might be on to it.

I can't keep this inside. I also shot JR. I stole the Lindberg baby. I put it in the secret pumpkin. I'm the reason why esparanto never took off....I sabotaged the metric system. I caused the Hindenberg disaster and my great grandfather's uncle was the captain of the titanic. I am ashamed. I am sad. I need to be stopped. Please.

Correct. They only in recent years added the marathon man uk style tracker after people started noticing things like it's the same non extraordinary marathoners and same people over and over again (cheryl zwarkowski 8 time finisher)!

Have any of the past participants have ever worn a gps with footpod measuring each individual footsrike and cadence for their personal use? It's possible.

But the average participant is someone connected to the tribe who has done their time promoting and vouching for the tribe and couldn't win a local 5k...but has been 'selected' for this 'honor' of participating in the 'worlds toughest race' with no proof they did it...and they are 'raising money for charity' as they do it...then they go on to try to write books and sell themselves as 'coaches' and 'inspirational speakers'.

And no gps with footstrike or cadence measured which would take no time at all.

Ouch scotty is freaking out. no gps with footstrike for any of the past runs for charity though nor tracking of the dollars raised.

What time does the run across illinois with cheryl zwarkowski for 'defeat the stigma' charity start next month?

So if they have had the tracker during the race for a few years, and the tracker was legit, what's the issue now with these runners?

Years ago, maybe, but then years ago there was likely many dodgy course cutters etc.

Many good legit ultra runners couldn't win a 5k. Its a whole different thing. Yes, no good ultra runner is CRAP at a 5k, but most couldnt win one.

Also I'd think an extraordinary charity runner doing this for attention would have a decent marathon time. Certainly someone 'selected' for badwater which is the 'worlds toughest'?

If this is distressing to them it seems that uploading a gps with each footstrike and cadence neasured for all the runs would be the easiest way to solve it, no?

Also doesn't solve the every other month 'run across' for charity, where do those funds go? A lot of the "charities" are owned by members of the group.

It will be interesting to see if mcnaughton 150 is it? is a legit event. It seems there's several components to this:

-fake endurance feats (run across ____ for attention and charity with no concrete proof and while not an exceptional runner) with end result being charity fraud and attention.

-sketchy events self labeled as prestigious that have the same participants over and over that once partivipants complete event they try to sell their book, speaking services, whatever...

It seems like just uploading a complete gps with each footstrike and cadence measured for all the runs for attention and charity as well as a complete accounting of charity dollars would be pretty easy to do, no?

But I still insist that did not shoot the deputy.

Regardless of the merits of this particular case, if I was going to do any of this kind of self-promotion legitimately I would be supplying GPS data with heartrate and cadence because it would be utterly crazy not to do so. The only reason for not doing so would be that I was cheating.

Scott my name is steve and I'm sorry you're having such a violent reaction to all this (as well as being in radical denial about the number of people who have formed a team to expose those who ruin this sport and steal from unsuspecting donors).

This is clearly causing you a lot of distress. I think perhaps just uploading a complete gps with footstrike and cadence of all the runs for attention and charity you've done to date and into the future will solve this in 5 minutes and ease your distress. A complete accounting of all the charity dollars in your various 'run across___/' and 'run down_____' which should take 5 minutes would also be pretty easy to do.

You seem very distressed and those easy to do things would certainly answer a lot of our questions so this doesn't cause you further distress.

The attempts to distract with bluster and defensiveness and doth protest too much instead of doing just that, just uploading the complete data for the runs for attention or "charity" (which would take less than 5 minutes), are interesting.

My Strava data speaks for itself. Anyone that knows anything about running will quickly conclude that no one would fake anything as mediocre as my performance or training history.

Scott everyone is really sorry you're struggling here. As you know strava...like spot trackers...do not record footstrike or cadence.

I think everyone is awaiting your gps with measurment of footstrike and cadence for all of your runs for attention and "charity" to date as well as an accounting of all the past charity runs. We're certainly hopeful you upload those soon.

So what you're telling our team and essentially everyone is that you have no gps with cadence and footsrike measurement for any of your previous runs and you also have no accounting of the previous charity dollars raised nor any of the current. Ouch.

Do you get off on trying to put down an innocent family. They have done nothing wrong, this is an act of bullying you heartless human, I don't see you get off your ass and try to accomplish something great for a great cause.

You probably sit around all day drinking alcohol and put other families down how about you get some sense of maturity and grow up and this goes to all the other heartless basterds out there
