can we just acknowledge that the announcer was excellent and really added to the excitement of the race? He was knowledgeable, engaged, and really made sure to take note of all of the key moves as they happened. We need more guys like him for the New York, Boston, and Chicago races.

Since you brought it up...Kenya happened to have some of their best runners in the indoors 3k in Choge and Ndiku. Where are the best white half marathoners here? Rupp? RItzenhein? Robertson? Not even anyone near world class even such as Puskedra and Meucci. How about some with amazing half potential...True, Derrick, Levins? No one.

The Ethiopians Farah "outkicked" at the end of the race were done from running a sub-14 5k segment. They didn't go in trying to run "the best they could on the day." They RAN TO WIN and blew up. That's how African runners do it. Go big or don't go at all.
If I run a perfectly-paced 13:45 PR and catch a 13:30 guy who tried to WIN a 13:00 race and blew up, I wouldn't be proud. I'd be embarrassed that I wasn't contending for the WIN.

I think he was talking about the NBC feed person. He was very good with what he had to work with. Obviously did not have many real time stats but talked for 2 hours. Who was he?
